My wife sold two vehicles using the pass thru method. Once in Oklahoma and once in Texas. Like metradog said, it gives the dealership an opportunity to finance the vehicle, turns inventory quickly, and at the very least gives them a sale. So why wouldn't a dealership do it?

I wouldn't be concerned about driving it the 6 hours home. I broke my coil launching my '14 out at Rausch Creek and drove it 4 hours home without issues.
