Did some cold straightening on the diff and it’s better but not where it needs to be. Got the the go ahead to make it drivable today so gonna pull diff out and get it fixed properly. Got it running and sounds good. No bangin and clangin.
Ok thanks. I’ve been obsessed with modulars for couple years now. Lots of tensioner problems there. The cheaper composite style fail a lot. Seems like the 6.2 got the good stuff.
Are the timing chain tensioners cast iron and do they have a ratcheting mechanism too? With the timing cover off it looks just like a 4.6 2v. Technically I don’t think the 6.2 is a “modular” engine but it sure looks like one.
I looked at frame today and didn’t see any issues other than 3 bent bumper brackets. Underside is rusty but not too beat up. It really needs a complete frame off restoration.
I finally got the wrecked 2010 raptor home and in the garage. My 1st time looking at one from underneath. These things are built solid! Tried to post pics
Wow that was educational. Just got through this build thread. Took awhile. Impressive modifications Zombiekiller. About the potential v8 swap, I am curious why the 6.2 wasn’t mentioned? No way it fits? A 6.6l w/11:1 compression setup for 93 octane would be the ultimate I think. I’m staying away...
Coronaraptor I have read that the raptor is wider than the f150 so been concerned about that diff. Just finished beefing up the 8.8 for my marauder but haven’t had anything to do with light truck differentials yet. I’m worried. Hopefully the cast centre section is intact and axle tube is not...
Yeah sorry about no pictures. Soon as I get it home I’ll post a few. Next week sometime. I’m really anxious to get a good look at it. Back right wheel was in the box in pics I saw so it’s eating at me what broke there. Axle, wheel studs? Dunno. $6000 mystery box
I’m from Saskatchewan and finally found a 6.2 raptor in my price range. Wasn’t allowed to look at truck but saw a few pics online at gov website. Couldn’t control myself and bid $6000. Still haven’t got it home yet. Front end and right side look good. Box pretty beat up. Cab a bit too but am...
I’ve owned a 2010 raptor for a week and half so this is my 1st post and don’t wanna to get off on the wrong foot but I think OP should be checkin oil pressure. I have 3 modular engines and when I start having valve train noise, variable valve timing issues or unusual timing chain noises 1st...
