Okay... I've had my truck rolling up on 1 year. Not interested in tuning, louder exhaust, lifting, or bigger tires. I do want to take it off-road from time-to-time, so I think I'm more concerned with protection.
Looking at rock sliders, what are the options? I see Ford Performance/ADD Rock...
I could be wrong, but I think the engineers were trying(and exceeded) to subdue the intake/turbo soundtrack for some reason... I, too, was looking to gain some of that noise back by going with a CAI(Roush's enclosed version)... anyway, it's not C.A.R.B. certified so most likely can't get it...
I believe 2017, 2018, and most likely 2019 Raptors all have the interior sound enhancement feature. I have not heard that it was discontinued in some way, either.
I may do an exhaust enhancement, but nothing too crazy. Out of the options the AWE kits has me interested, but the FlowMaster FlowFX...
If you did a catback or axle-back exhaust on most modern cars, you were doing it for audio enhancement, only. Catalytic converter(or delete) and header changes is where you may gain noticeable performance, but then a tune(ECU reprogramming) is required... at that point you may have gained extra...
If CAI does not require a tune, I very much doubt anyone will see a noticeable performance gain... OEM airbox/filter combination is efficient, quiet, and keeps under-hood temps at bay... you are doing a mod like this to HEAR more noise or to look cool within the engine bay.
I also very much...
It does not matter what type of modern engine your ride has... V8, V6, 4-banger, etc. ... if there is some type of performance gain from an axle-back or catback, it is negligible in the hp/tq arena. Changing to those set-ups are just for sound... PERIOD. Most OEM exhausts are very quiet and they...
The new Bakflip Revolver X4 is good-to-go, but I was looking more for the clean lines, matte black finish, and low in added weight versus security and weather resistance... I actually was leaning more towards the Truxedo Pro X15 before the release of the new Revolver X4 due to its much lighter...
I believe it is backlit, but it is very low and can get a little brighter by increasing the cabin illumination switch. I, too, thought it was not backlit after taking delivery last month, but I tweaked the switch up a bit and can see the P, R, N, D, M markings by the shifter at night.

I know how you feel... I've been making up reasons to take my truck out... multiple errands to Lowe's and Home Depot... pick up some take-out when I know there's food in the house...
Just hit over 1k miles. This is my first truck, so I had to get comfortable with driving a full-size truck...
I ended up going with the Bakflip Revolver X4... was in a rush to beat any possible snow fall. Install went without a hitch. I can not find my heat gun, so side rubber seals need to "settle-in" over time and in warmer weather... I really like the look of the matte black finish!

That's good to hear... I ended up getting my truck, but not the way I was intending... cancelled my retail order after finding a dealer-ordered truck similarly built the way I wanted. Been enjoying the truck so much, I forgot to check back at the posts!
