Hey all, happy to join you. This is my new to me 2013, 66k, F150 Raptor. Looking for recommendations on running boards and winch bumpers.

Some decent aftermarket headlight units is a mod that I’d recommend. The stock headlights are a real weak spot. Spend the extra money to get a good set. I purchased Morimoto headlights that are a bit expensive but the best available. You’ll appreciate the difference every time you need to use...

    The death of car culture

I can see the “modified high performance” end of the car culture slowly changing but I think if you look at the “overland” segment of car culture you will find that we are not the last gen. While they may not be high performance, high speed machines like our Raptors, they definitely are, and...

    Finally!

The Nova headlights LED white band around the headlight is too wide for my taste. That’s the first thing you see when you look at them. The Morimotos almost look like they are factory stock. They do have sequential signal lights by the way.

    Finally!

The stock headlights on the 1st gen are a weak point. I went for a set of Morimotos for my 2012 Raptor. Expensive but love them!

    GEN 2 Car Wash

I’ve been to a few car washes around my area (a Vancouver Canada suburb) and the Raptor won’t fit so I stopped trying. Better to wash in the driveway. Don’t get too much freezing weather here.

How to drive your Gen 1 in the snow?

That’s basically the way I learned as well. You get to know how you vehicle reacts to driver inputs and exactly what your limits are pretty damn quick.

How to drive your Gen 1 in the snow?

Smooth and steady at the controls. No sudden moves. Try not to spin your tires when taking off (unless your in a mall parking lot hot dogging). And remember, you can’t stop any faster than you can take off so give yourself lots of room. 4 high - especially with diff lock on, for slippery...

    Diff Fluid?

Actually, too much can hurt. It can cause foaming and lead to overheating. The “burp valve “ is to allow air, which expands a lot when heated, to escape. Without it, the diff would pressure up when it gets warm and potentially push oil out of the pinion or axle seals.

    New Brakes

I purchased and installed the “EBC” slotted and dimpled rotors and the “greenstuff” pads and I’m totally satisfied. Noticeable improvement over stock. Mind you I’m not doing any hardcore off-roading or trailer hauling as yet. One tip: if you’re doing the rears, make sure you lubricate the...

    Trading Raptor for ....

Checked Consumers Report’s reliability rating - the Ram (didn’t have the Rebel) rated 1 out of 5 on their scale. Both for 2019 and 2020. Everything else like ride, handling, noise and comfort it was rated very highly. ride,
