Multiple catalytic converter failures in multiple vehicles

I have an update on the catalytic converter saga: At 9600 miles codes P0430/P0431: - replaced both catalytic converters. At 14000 miles code P0431: - ultimately determined the catalytic converter performance "sensor", which should have been replaced when both cats were replaced, needed to...

    Is this a joke - 2024 37PP wheels

I live in Northwestern Montana the GEN 3 Ford F150 raptor it’s too wide for some of the local car washes, the GEN 1 and 2 are fine - that extra inch makes a difference

Multiple catalytic converter failures in multiple vehicles

These are images from various stations - "ethanol free" / "no ethanol" fuel (not sure about the 110) in Montana.

Multiple catalytic converter failures in multiple vehicles

In Montana (and Canada) almost every gas station's 91/93/94 octane fuel is "ethanol free". Exxon has both ethanol free and 10% (?) ethanol 91 premium. I believe this is because all small engines (such as tractors, snow blowers, chain saws, etc.) require non-ethanol fuel. I always use "ethanol...

Multiple catalytic converter failures in multiple vehicles

I exclusively use "no ethanol top tier" fuel with at least 91 octane (all they have in Montana) - in Canada I can find 93 and 94 octane fuel. All service has been done by the Ford dealer - I have the oil changed every 3000 to 4000 miles - I have them use Mobil-1 full synthetic oil (which they...

Multiple catalytic converter failures in multiple vehicles

Both catalytic converters have been replaced (under warranty) on 3 vehicles: - 2018 Ford Explorer Sport 3.5L V6 in February 2023 about 52000 miles - 2019 F150 Raptor in May 2020 about 9000 miles - 2022 F150 Raptor in March 2023 about 8000 miles All 3 vehicles were purchased new from, and...

    110 Race Gas available

Here in Kalispell Montana the 110 octane gas is ONLY $9.99 - I add 1 or 2 gallons to a 36 gallon tank of 91 octane it seems to help

Are the Gen 3's an overall Quality Issue? Prior Gen 2 owner, considering bailing on order.

Purchased a special order 2019 GEN2 had 1 problem (cam phasers) in 33,000 miles. I was very happy and not thinking about selling. In May 2020 brought it to the dealer for an oil change, and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse, almost what I originally paid for a trade-in and said they would sell...

Have gen2s become that cheap ???

FWIW I special ordered a new 2019 raptor 05/16/2019 built in July 2019 delivered 08/26/2019 it had the cam phaser problem. This lines up with the November 2019 cut over date for the updated cam phaser.

Have gen2s become that cheap ???

Yes, this was at Kalispell Ford, I don’t drive by very often I live north of Whitefish near Olney. I think the 2022 was under 10k miles. Both of them were gone within one month of me taking those pictures. I drove by there last week and there were no raptors on the lot.

Have gen2s become that cheap ???

This is in Northwest Montana, which has a different economic scale than, for example, California or Texas - most people don’t make six-figure incomes around here - clearly the supply is not exceeding the demand.

Have gen2s become that cheap ???

FWIW These lightly used 21 & 22 where for sale at the local Ford dealer in the last 30 days and both of them sold. I’m not sure how this relates to Gen2s but I would be surprised if they’re going for half the price

    ‘24/‘25 Raptor Refresh

I agree with the comments regarding “real gauges“. I have a 1967 Sunbeam Tiger Mk2 - the 4 barrel 289 is ridiculously easy to work on (if you ignore the 2 spark plugs that are accessed from the passenger compartment), it has an all wood dashboard that includes 7 analog gauges, 6 toggle switches...

    ‘24/‘25 Raptor Refresh

The dealership loaned me a new f150 lightning while my 2022 raptor was in to have some accessories added. Personally, I hated that virtually every function was controlled from one very large screen. You have to take your eyes off the road too often. Maybe I’m just too much old school, but I...
