2013 Raptor - Do I have a major diff problem?

Well, I have installed the replacement solenoid and check valve. I test drove it around and didn't think I heard anything. I popped it into 4WD and then back into 2WD to test that out - and shortly after going back into 2WD it made the sound again. I came to a stop and then set off again...

2013 Raptor - Do I have a major diff problem?

Man, I have just not had a great week! I was very low on gas when I pulled up to a gas station after work, I left the truck running (like I always do) and started to fill up - seconds later I heard my engine struggle and die and looked in horror to see a Low Oil Pressure warning on my dash! I...

2013 Raptor - Do I have a major diff problem?

Nice, I have the truck scheduled for a visit to a shop with a good reputation that only does differential work - they're just not available for a couple months. Hopefully I can just the hub actuation issue solved so that I'm not causing further damage in the meantime. Potentially ignorant...

2013 Raptor - Do I have a major diff problem?

That's also good to know. I did not know that those nuts are not considered reusable - I'll ask them about that. Is that something I could just replace with the vehicle sitting on the ground - or is it meant to only be replaced with no load on the suspension?

2013 Raptor - Do I have a major diff problem?

Just to add to it all - my passengers side CV has developed a tear in one of the boots!

2013 Raptor - Do I have a major diff problem?

That makes sense - just to be clear - would that cause the wear to increase many many times over? and would that likely require a rebuild that includes replacement spider gears and bearings? Also, even with a new seal - would that excess radial movement cause enough wear to the point that a...

2013 Raptor - Do I have a major diff problem?

I would generally agree. I also watched someone report back about wear issues after running the RCV eliminators for a few months (I think it was just under a year ? not sure how many miles). Regardless of whether or not I'd run eliminators, I really shouldn't at the moment because there already...

2013 Raptor - Do I have a major diff problem?

That does appear to be the problem - I got a dorman IWE actuator (just because it's all that I could get on short notice) and my driver's side hub is now unlocked when in 2WD (as it should be). I even paint marked the axle and IWE to make sure its hasnt moved after I've driven somewhere. However...

2013 Raptor - Do I have a major diff problem?

I hope I'm posting this in the right place! I, of course, have developed an IWE problem. I've been hearing a rattling/grinding noise on and off at highway speeds for maybe the last 4k miles. I originally thought it was a loose bolt, and basically convinced myself o that when I found a very...

    Ease my concerns....

There have been a couple - relatively few and far between - reports of exhaust manifold leaks. As well as some on the Super Duties with the 6.2. You could check exhaust pressure on both sides to see if there's a leak on one side. Would it be possible for us to get a video of the sound and the...

    Ease my concerns....

Have a 2013 Raptor and experience ticking 24/7. For the 50k miles I've had it. Sometimes idles rough at low speeds - but after changing spark plugs and coil that happened much less frequently. Like MFNG said - a little gas and she's happy! The ticking, in my experience, sounds like it's coming...

    I screwed up...

I had a pretty annoying grinding sound that was also caused by lots of mud. It ended up being the belt tensioner pulley. Pulled my hair out trying to figure out what it was

GEN 1 Cylinder #7 Ignition Coil and Spark Plug Wire Arc - Any Advice Appreciated!

UPDATE: A cheap carquest spark plug wire fixed the issue! This is somewhat circumstantial - but there also appeared to be a slight MPG increase down the same stretch of road. I'll be replacing the rest of the wires (and the carquest one) in a couple days! Thankfully it ended up costing $7. I'm...

Are you running a high mileage oil? Theoretically that could help as well

Need Help : 456 gear ratio for 37" tires

Nitro Gear makes full kits that come with everything - it's essentially a full rebuild of the differential. Bearings, seals, the gears themselves - everything. I personally went with 4.88. People haven't generally had the best experience getting Ford to reprogram stuff like this. I would...
