I have a 2013 SuperCab with a very annoying driver's door rattle. I would like to try this electrical tape fix. Can anyone show a picture of this? When I envision electrical tape on a striker bar I imagine that it would wear through quickly from opening and closing the door. So I think I may not...
I have a 2013 SuperCab.
I hate the way MP3's work in this truck. Is there a way to bypass SYNC and just send MP3's from a player directly to the amplifier? So the system does not try to ingest the songs into its memory?
Thanks...
Just thought I would throw this out there, have no idea if anyone can diagnose.
The other day I was driving slowly down a rather steep paved road. It was twisty so necessitated braking for turns. About 3 or 4 times in a row when I touched the brakes I got an unusual "graunch" type of sound from...
If I were a Gen II owner I would definitely pick Avalanche. Just a great color. Similar to a current Porsche color called "Chalk". If Gen-I's were offered in AG I would have searched for that. Instead I settled for my second favorite Raptor color - Dune. No offense to White, I've owned a few...
Finished the job this morning, no issues. The wiring part is easy. Taking the PDB apart is a little finicky, you just have to take your time. The aluminum bracket people refer to, I did remove that and it does help. Not that it matters, but I sort of think that bracket is magnesium. It just...
Thank you. I watched a video done by a tech which did the same thing. Don't know where the PDB 8-3 reference comes from in my instructions. Maybe an errant page or something.
OK, so I am right in the middle of doing this fix on my 2013 SuperCab.
I've gotten to the point where it is time to cut wires. But the instructions leave me confused.
I have located the large BU/RD wire that leads to the location of Fuse 27. I understand that this wire must be cut, and the...
What you are describing is called a "solder splice". If you Google that you'll find a lot of places that sell them. Some you have to crimp first, some not.
Ok, I got it off. The connector is a "squeezer". But I still had to pry up on it slightly to get it to come off. It was on there very tightly. I am always careful with this type of thing. If I had damaged the connector the truck would be non-functional, as this actually goes to the VCT mechanism...
Doing some research I believe this to be a cam sensor.
Still not figured out how to remove the connector. Someone who has removed and replaced the valve covers must have run across this. Anyone?
Thanks
I was changing the oil on my 2013 SuperCab today, for the first time. I did not have the right funnel to add the new oil and ended up spilling some on the valve cover. As I was cleaning the mess, I noticed some oil around the electrical connector, just in front of the oil filler at the front of...
That would be my solution if I had the same issue. As long as you use quality butt connectors and glue shrink you should be able to implement a reliable fix. I would not solder anything. That's me, I learned wiring the aerospace way.
