I had both. Nothing wrong with the 5.4. They had many of the recent updates done to them by 2010. You really can't tell there is a 100hp difference betweem them. I'd suggest a tune. I also averaged 17-18 mpg with 5.4. I average 12-13mpg with the 6.2. Personally I'd go for a 6.2, but if im...
Had a 5.4. SVC was amazing. I got a 6.2 with a street tune now and barely can tell the difference between them unless i load up the performance tune. Id prolly pick JDM now since SVC doesnt make tunes anymore.
Btw hope the cam phasers don't act up on your like mine did on my old 5.4. Fixed them...
Last year I was looking at a 2019 Ruby Crew and a 14 Ruby Crew. Saved 23k on getting the 14' and couldnt be happier. I did like the 19 and newer interior. I imagine the 6.2 on that new trans and lighter frame would be beast. Still not quite the get up and go a 3.5TT though. 97k in the 6.2 &...
I used NHOU on mine. It's been holding up well in the salt belt so far. I used Fluid film on my previous raptor. NHOU smells much better then the fluid film.
^ I'd go for a 13/14. HID lights and an updated center console are a nice improvement over the previous years. Otherwise I'd go for a 12. The 10s had the old school dash which is cool, but doesn't have as many features. You sometimes are able to find a 13/14 less then 100k miles for around $35,000.
Super low miles there. My old 5.4 had over 130,000 with no real big issues before i traded it in. (got 15k trade in for it and it had rust on the rockers/doors/shocks were due for rebuilds/bald tires) Dealer took it and sold it for 19k within the first month they had it. With a SVC tune it...
This just happened to me yesterday after a remote start. The blower when full blast and broke the cog off the recirculation door. I had the horrible humming noise when I got into the truck. I took the blower motor off and sure enough its in there. I reinstalled the blower and it works fine but...
I had mine break on my old scab raptor a few years ago. I ordered the replacement track kit from sunroof doctor and replaced it myself one afternoon. If you dont use it the track may stick and the cheap plastic parts in it may break. The kit was just over $100. I remember I needed a pop rivet...
10' & 11' are the only years for the molten orange accent package. The blue accent package was introduced in 12'. The blue accent package was for the some of the trim and just on the cloth part/stitching on the seats. The leather stayed black.
I purchased a 5.4 and now have 114,000 and rising. No complaints here. The color was more important to me, and the deal was right once I got mine a few years back.
