Check out my thread from 2 years ago - towing a bunch of my track cars but most recently and most extensively my GT3 Cup car. No WDH needed. It tows beautifully. Way more than enough power for any situation, excellent braking. Aside from a little bit of sagging rear suspension which is nothing...
Thanks for the assistance everyone! I've been towing like this for about 20k miles now, hit many tracks over the west coast and it's been absolutely flawless. No WHD. Tow in 'tow mode', 2WD. I also recently discovered that if you use a tie down point on the car's chassis rather than the wheels...
I was getting a hint of porpoising in tow mode, due to maxed out payload and tongue weight. Sport mode firms up the shocks and really dialed that vertical bounce right out.

The whole thing was an absolutely smashing success. Couldn't be happier with how it all turned out.
Event was possibly the most fun I've had in my life.
Thanks for the suggestions all!
Truck pulled beautifully. Not a hint of sway. Brakes were strong. Engine was strong.
Pulled the...
Absolutely. I like to set it in tow haul straight away, 4A for wet pavement, and 2A for dry so far seems to work good. Lock gears to 7 max (both towing and normal day to day use), might allow it to run up to 10th during those hour-long straight stretches of i5).
On my way down from Stevens pass...
Took my trailer and WRX for a walk out to Stevens Pass Sunday. Very steep grade, very narrow lanes, icy road and touched the snow just to get a feel for it.
No complaints!
Been taking the trailer to work with my to continue getting more experience. So far so good.
Thanks gents. I also researched it after the first post and concluded the same. Works well enough, trailer sits level. I don't tow frequently enough to stress over it and will be replacing this beast with the upcoming v8 raptor, hopefully ford has hired better contractors to weld their hitches.
Just picked up and loaded this trailer onto my stock 19 raptor. Does this hitch angle look alright? Seems really angled downward, from the hitch itself.
Trailer plus load is approximately 5000 pounds with about 500 lb tongue weight.
Handles and pulls perfectly as far as I'm concerned.
Question though - can you guys take a peak at these pics and let me know if this ball angle looks alright?
Looks to me like the ball is kind of canted downwards more than might be ideal? If this is problematic, how to fix?
I loaded it with shy of 500lb tongue weight - car weighs roughly...
Trailer picked up today! Drove her about 4 hours so far.
Impressions --- VERY impressed!!! Raptor tows as well as I could ever imagine. I don't have anything to compare it against, but honestly didn't feel like I was left wanting for anything else.
After I picked it up, I drove it about 1.5...
Definitely. I have a long and complicated drive way, and the only way to get that trailer in is to back it in, so it'll be trial by fire my first day LOL. Watched several hours of How-To videos so far, feel decently well-armed with information, now it's time to put it into practice.
Will be picking her up tomorrow. Plan to spend the full weekend training. Will also spend the next week towing my subaru to work and back every day. Will report back with pics, impressions, and more questions no doubt.
The trip is from Seattle to monterey California on i5. There's a relatively short section that peaks around 4000 ft in Mt Siskiyou crossing the oregon/CA border that can see some heavy snow. I'm going to have to monitor the conditions as we get closer. If there's a great deal of snow, I will...
Says electric brakes on the spec sheet: https://www.olympictrailer.com/2021-aluma-8220xl-6-N6ai.html
(I'm so clueless with all this it's hilarious, lots to learn!)
