Sorry for the delayed response. Yeah, the perch mod is pretty much like a leveling kit in that it raises the front of the truck up. You're just using a built in feature of the shock instead of installing another component into the mix. There haven't been any negative aspects with the perch mod and has been a popular thing to do because of the benefits and the fact that it's a built in feature. Along with a much better stance, (seems to be popular opinion) it really eliminates the nose diving on braking. It also eliminates some body roll while going through turns and makes for a more "controllable" feel. At the middle setting (what I have) the front sits juuuuust under the rear but super close to level....top setting will have you just a tad higher than the rear.
