Perch adjustment partial shock removal?

Would it be possible to do a perch adjustment by only removing the top of the shock from the shock tower? The the shock could tilt out relieving pressure and allow me to make the adjustment to the middle?

I tried that method and couldn't get the springs compressed enough they weren't budging amy hints?

^Exactly @JanT knows what's up. It took a couple times to get it right. But work the jack on the LCA and use the weight of the truck. I used $49 Craftsman spring compressors and they worked just fine.

I compressed the springs with the weight of the truck and a jack then did the spring compressor and it still wasn't enough I guess I'll try again

Also is mid perch better than low perch for jumping? I know all the other benefits but no one ever mentions the effects of putting the truck in the air
