Pricing and production model updates!!!!

After some time we fiqured out a way we can use 1 single harness using the 7-pin round trailer socket, and still be able to gain both reverse light activation and running light activation, as well as a OFF mode.

Because of this, we are dropping the 4-pin option all together, and will include this new harness and 3 position switch on ALL packages, thus reducing options and end cost. Making these fully equipped for all your needs.

Pricing and Models:

SPORT Package $349.99

-1800 lumens

PRO Package $459.99

-4300 lumens

Both models Include:

-Hitch mount housing

-Baja Design Squadron flush mount (your choice of beam/color)

-custom made 2 mode harness, and built in 3-position switch.

Love this. A lot. But is there any chance it can be made so that the light is fully recessed into the mount (like a non flush mount and a larger housing)?

Where I live, "parking" is an issue.

I second Truckzor, I think it would look cleaner if the light was recessed into the hitch more. not sure if this is possible though

I can completely understand where you guys are coming from, but to be honest, I dont think we will be doing anything like that. It would require a whole different approach to building these. I personally do not think it would look nearly as good, because then you have a open unit with a standard light just sitting there, which I've seen in other applications and it just looks cheesy IMO, and just another access for dirt and crap to collect. Yes it would protect the light more, but you would also lose a bit of flood angle as well as the walls of the housing would cut it off.

I personally wouldn't worry about parking issues, the housing is solid, and the lens and bezel of the light are easily replaceable and don't cost much.

Any feed back on snoball

There was mixed feedback actually.

Overall, seems like everyone liked the product and the concept.

Then that's where people start to split.

Some say it worked great as a dust light and cut through the snow well. Others say not so much...

Some say it was great at night, but then others think it was way too bright for night.

So there's a mixed bag. It is obviously not a product for everyone, which I've clearly stated. But I can pretty much guarantee there is not an easier, and faster way to add a dust light or reverse light to your truck.

Excellent idea. Hmmm.

@bmacked

How'd it work for ya

After having it on my truck for the last week or so, I will say that I really like the concept. I think it will make a great product once fine-tuned. It was on the back of my truck the whole weekend so I can only share what others in my group said about driving behind it.

The general consensus I received was that this light was great during the day and in dusty conditions but was far too bright in the dark when it wasn't dusty. I will say that there were certainly times throughout the weekend where every rear light was blinded out by the snow (exception being @13raptorcrew and his awesome school bus lights). I'd be interested to see how it works out at the dunes.

Overall I think it’s a great option for those who don’t want to bother with permanently mounted rear facing lights. I'd be a buyer if I was already going with a permanent setup on my truck.

With the finding of the 7 pin to work it could be hooked up to be dim until the break is pressed.

Thanks for all your feedback and running the light at snowball bud!

You know, you could still run one for a auxiliary reverse light!! :ROFLJest:

Unfortunately I believe the Squadrons will regulate the input voltage and will only stay at one brightness level no matter what, maybe @Baja Designs could chime in on that...

We have had a few customers in the past hook up our Lights as Tail/Brake Lights. It does require a little bit of patience but can be done.
Most customers will end up purchasing our Skene Motorcycle Dimmer and custom wiring it into their electrical systems. You can have a Dim mode as a running light and Full Power when the brakes are applied.
We don't have any step by step instructions for this application though.

Skene Motorcycle Dimmer - Baja Designs
$59.99 ------ $53.99

*This is typically used for motorcycle applications with a Dimmed percentage on Low Beam and Full Power on High Beam.
With that being said the following diagram is for that type of use. We HIGHLY recommend calling Skene to try and determine the best wiring solution. We are just a dealer of Skene Products and don't have the information to wire it up for this application.
