While I really appreciate the offer, I think it would be a Pyrrhic victory. VA requires you to represent yourself in small claims court. You can seek consultation but you cannot be represented by an attorney and you cannot sue for your legal fees either. The cost of getting there and back compared to what I'd sue for. At this point I have no idea what to even go after them for. Without having a couple professional shops do a full inspection with a detailed report I don't have much against them other than what I documented as the time went on. They would consider my pictures but when it comes to my opinion on things, my expertise will be called into question. If I had the truck inspected now it would almost be pointless due to the time that has elapsed.

It ****** me off every time I think about it. At this point I'm ready to just get the money due to me and move on. If the truck fails a year from now or whenever, how am I gonna prove what caused it?

Look guys Im not a jerk.. Sorry for unloading the other day. I just am fed up for you and everybody involved in this situation. Just because they said they could fix it or thought they could fix it is kind of irrelevant. The extent of water damage is never ending and they probably didn't fully realize the extent of the damage at first look. Our trucks are full of wires and sensitive computers. I feel sorry for Rookie for obvious reasons but I also feel for the dealer that was handed a truck that has been flooded. Its like being handed a shredded newspaper and told to put it back together. Could it be done? Sure... Is it worth it? Probably not. Like I said a while back you need to draw a line and accept the situation and move on. Sure you were screwed... Sure its cost you money... Sure its just been one royal pain in the ass.. But hell just take a step back and look at the big picture for your own sanity mostly. Its just a truck. just metal and wires on 4 wheels that's it. Not trying to give the dad talk just trying to put the situation in perspective. At least that's how I see it and might have missed some side info or some side stories. Again, Im sorry for posting that the other day. I was a bit tipsy and had one hell of a day at work and my wife wasn't around to beat up. I feel for you bro. I know we love our trucks and love this site.

I've decided to accept it, primarily for my sanity like you stated. I get infuriated every time I tell someone the story or something else happens. I know it was a ****** deal and that no one can be expected to guarantee 100% their repairs on a water damaged vehicle but it was the little things that added up to make this situation ****** up. They did a great job bringing the truck back to life, they just didn't do everything satisfactorily. Everything was half assed from replacing the padding to the engine swap. That's what makes me angry. They could've returned the truck to 100% but they didn't because of they way they conducted the repairs. It had nothing to do with the damage. It had to do with how they fixed it.

Zach,

I am not a Lawyer nor would i pretend to give you legal advice, BUT Cavalier needs, IMO to specify the exact transaction, not some open ended "get out of Jail Free" letter that you are basically signing away at future claim that might arise.

I feel you pain bud, but I would tell them to take their money an stick it. In addition I would counter with a number that takes into account your current "out-of-pocket" expenses and double it!

Just my $.02....

Looks like something downloaded from the internet! Or they have a form letter for these specific situations. Which is even worse!

On more thing, I guess their "Love Letter" would be Null and Void if fraud exists!

NOTE: Even though Fred is not a Lawyer, and he requires no fees or pay unless you win. Therefore a 10% charge will suffice for the pretend Legal Advice.

BTW - I endorse Fred's advice on this one. Good Luck!

Hahahahaha. Against much desire, I didn't reply to this. My potential responses ranged from sarcastic to rage but I decided to leave it.

"Two short years ago, you took delivery of your Ford F-Series Pickup.

At that time, I discussed the quality of the vehicle and our commitment to service. Hopefully, you have found this to be truthful during the ensuing years. Our philosophy is the same today as it was then, "The customer is our only reason for being here."

I'd also like to mention that if any of your friends or business associates are thinking of a new or pre-owned vehicle, have them give me a call at or email me at.

I will do my absolute best to help them any way I can."

If anyone needs a vehicle, go to Cavalier Ford! Pause not.
