For all those like me who have waited over a year for the Roll-X XT with a larger, more positive locking system along the side rails, and a track system for accessories, BAK showed their revamped, renamed product at SEMA. It now has a new name, Revolver X2.

BAK is still saying the same thing they have for the last year. It will be available in a couple months and will include the track system for bike racks, bed dividers, etc. I will believe it when UPS sets it on my porch.

Motortrend has a photo with the new locking tabs on their website:

Thanks for your post permag. In fact, most of what you are saying is correct. What was going to be called the RollX HD was announced at SEMA as the RevolverX2. The name change was mandatory for trademark concerns with Rolex watches. The RevolverX2 is the next generation of the Roll-X. It will have beefed up rails and actuator tabs and will start shipping in late January. Of course, I will keep you here up to date on exactly when we can start taking orders. Anybody who would like to contact me directly for further discussion is welcome to do so.

Thanks, Morrie.

It would be helpful to know what of what I said was inaccurate. XT Tracks & accessories? I spoke directly with BAK, and asked if this was going to be HD equivalent, or XT equivalent, and was told it was XT equivalent with accessory tracks. If they were mis-informed, and it is the HD, that would be good to know so we can make other plans for cargo management.

Also, FYI, Motortrend is calling it the "Extang/TruXedo Revolver X2" which adds to the confusion. I know they are sister companies with BAK, but...

I like the idea of the beefier rails. Hell, I'll take anything to help stop the rollx/revolver from popping loose during rough trail sections, or spirited driving, then collapsing halfway into the bed, and only on one side.

Will wait to see reports from those that take it off road on if it will replace my F1. I want a cover that is rock solid even when jumping the truck. I have had the F1 pop up a few times

I can only post what I am sure of for now, and that is the cover is called the Bak RevolverX2. The main changes over the current Roll-X are to the rails and how they lock in the slats. Also the actuator lever is different. As far as the XT options, I do not know for sure when those accessories will be available. I will certainly keep this thread updated as I learn more...please stay tuned:bowroflwerd6::bowroflwerd6:

The name Roll-X is being retired in favor of the new Revolver X2 due out in March. You can thank the Rolex watch company for blocking any trademark attempts for the new owner's of BAK. The Revolver is the next generation Roll-X just with a different name. Please keep watching this space for the firm ship date...:big_banana_Dance:
