Hey Morrie,

I bought a bakflip f1 from you back in 2012 for my 2012 raptor. It's about 2-1/2 years later and the top of it is fading to a dull black. Not the entire thing, mostly towards the front/center, probably about 50% of the cover I always keep my truck washed, waxed, spotless. It's a street queen lol. Up until a couple months ago it was still fine. It's just been recently that I've noticed it's getting dull. I haven't tried to compound it yet (little tough with the textured surface) but I wasn't sure if there's any kind of finish warranty or if I'm beyond the coverage by now.

Thanks for the help! Aside from that it's been 2-1/2 years and I get compliments on the cover all the time, love it's functionality!

Hey Reptar:
Thanks for reaching out with your fading issue. I have seen this issue before. Please send me some pics showing the contrast between the panel that is fading vs the one that is not so I can see how bad it is. I do have a product that will restore the black for you if its not too bad. Its called Solution Finish. If you want to try some, I will send a bottle to you. In any event please send me the pics and we' ll decide what to do after i have a chance to see them.

Thanks,
morrie

Does your F1 squeak? Is there a fix for that? Something that you can adjust?

Hi Tommy:
I have to be honest with you, I have heard many comments about the BakFlip during the last 7 years, but never a squeaking issue. Squeaks are funny things to find and I have been chasing one in my truck for a while. My best suggestion is to take the BakFlip off of the rails which should only take a couple of minutes and see if the squeak goes away. My best guess is that it's not the BakFlip. If it proves to be the BakFlip then we can revisit this subject once you have done the above test. I hope this helps you.

Thanks,

I have a problem where one side latches and the other doesn't on the last panel at the tailgate. I've tried a bunch of things to adjust it but it still doesn't latch. I have a F1. ade7aje6.jpg

Give it a coat of Adams VRT 2-3 times a year, keeps it looking brand new all year long.

Sorry I haven't gotten pics up yet. Washed the truck on Friday and snapped some pics.

Here's after it was washed, pretty much the entire cover is dull black now. I put some Vinylex on the cover to see if that would restore it, and it makes a big difference initially, but doesn't last, and still doesn't have the same look that the cover did a few months ago.
