Deaver +3 and mid perch

Hey there guys..after reading many many suspension posts i know many of you have after market springs as well as other suspension mods.

I'm wondering if any of you have deaver +3 (or similar arched springs) and the mid perch and if so what do you think of the handling and ride quality of the truck.

I have deaver +3 and am currently on mid perch untill my shocks get back thursday.

I would say for stock suspension with just the +3 its a bit much. Even at mid perch you get a real ass up look and its unbalanced peformance wise. The front doesnt keep up with the rear, the rear over powers it.

If your going to go mid perch i would just suggest +2. That will set you at the factory ride height and give you the upgrade in performance your looking for.

Normally i run the fronts above mid perch to level it out.

It also depends on if you have a scab or screw

Not really. They spec screw or scab when you order. So I assume the spring rate is slightly different to accommodate the extra weight of the truck. Really the weight difference over the rear axel from screw to scab is minimal to negligible.


Labraptors ups shipping was about 10 pounds heavier than mine.

Also it depends on if you plan to have duel tire spares and extra gas, jack, tools.... in the bed

Deaver +2 or Deaver sprung under leafs?? What is the benefit of one vs the other and why would you choose one over the other, application wise.

Deaver +2 along with Mid-Perch you Raptor will sit at a level stance and will look good. If you plan to keep any weight in the bed you will go nose high. I had exact issue when I went Mid-Perch and +2's and I liked the look. But adding my chase rack, 2 spare tires and gear I was having some serious Cali-Lean.

And while I agree with @Huck above about being ass-high with +3 while empty the ride was not compromised at all. Deaver springs improve the ride big time over stock and +3 just raises the rear another inch over stock. In my case even with all my gear going with +3 (I had Deaver re-arch and add a load leaf) I sat with a factory stance of slightly higher in the rear, level when towing.

With sprung under you may get less wheel hop but consensus says it's not worth it on a stock Raptor. Those who go with a bypass rack in the rear often go with sprung under as you see more travel. I've also "heard" (but not confirmed) that towing is a no-no with sprung under which in my case I couldn't do as I tow
