Been searching the past 30 mins and haven't found any pictures of head units here.

Trying to get an idea of brands and models that people are choosing.

Any pictures?

what year is your truck?

2014 - 800A.

I never spring for the upgraded sound in vehicles. I eventually change everything out.

Been reading threads that have you in them and wish you lived near me to do an install.

1) IOS integration iPod, iPhone, Siri, etc.
2) Bluetooth.
3) Would like to keep functionality of the steering wheel controls.

Would like to have a unit that would allow me to interface through usb and watch movies: mp4, avi, etc. So, a double din biggish screen would be nice.

Would be nice to have the ability to send video over wifi/bluetooth to other screens.

I'm not loyal to any brand. I don't go cheap, but don't go crazy either, and usually opt for "last years top model."

here, on frf
metra is the only company that has a dash kit for the 13-14 model year trucks. since you dont have the 801a interfacing makes it much easier. in my opinion pioneer has a better nav inteface, and alpine has a little better sound quality. kenwoods maestro system has proven to be a hit or miss setup and has been buggy at times.

alpine has an 8" screen (maybe the 9" is out now?) but it only works with 2012 and under with their perfect fit dash kit

pioneer and kenwood only have 7" screens available.

metra dash kit (i have not seen in person yet) is the only kit available and the fit and finish is not as good as the alpine kit for the 2012s.

so as a personnal preference, i would do the pioneer avic z150bh with the metra kit.

i would much rather have function than frustration.

but go to a shop and see each radio. check features and get a feel for the interface of each. never go based on what people tell you. your tastes will be different. just bcause i feel the need to throw a radio, doesnt mean you will. you may like it.

You've named companies that I've used in the past.

Pioneer would be the direction that I would lean more towards since I liked their past offerings.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will research the unit you mentioned above.

I also agree that function trumps frustration.

Will be doing more research and hopefully get to ****** some some head units.

Thank you for your response!

Kapolani - I know you are in St. Mary's county but there is a company near Richmond that got a great reference from another owner on here. I contacted them and felt really good about what they were telling me but I have not pulled the trigger on the install. I do not have the contact info here with me right now. If you want it PM me.

The kenwood unit paired with the Maestro RR will read from OBDII, so it basically will read either factory or aftermarket TPMS sensors as long as your vehicle reads it.
