To all those who have the tailgate step, who likes it who doesn't and why. It looks to me like something that down the road will corrode and give me problems and possibly rattle. ( I'm in the Midwest rustbelt) And if you do have it do you actually use it? Thanks. I ordered my truck without it, but a local dealer just got the same truck in with the step. Long story short I have him within 500.00 of my deal with the truck I ordered minus 2-4 month wait.

I have the tailgate step and my knees love it.
I would guess that it is a potential rust pit, but if so, it could be replaced several years down the road. I'd do it again, but my knees do have quite a few years on them.

I have it and it makes loading for a trip much easier. If I had to order another truck I would have the step again.

The one down side to it is the you have to get it with the stripers pole and I don't use it. It makes it so the tailgate isn't flat and sliding heavier items can be a small pain.

As for not having to wait another 2-4 months well worth it! Go for it!

I have it on my King Ranch and ordered it with the Raptor too. Makes it a breeze to get in the bed especially if you are not so flexible. I've seen some mods where you can keep the step and remove the pole so the tailgate is flat but do have to purchase the tailgate panel from a non-tailgate step one.

That makes more since to me. The more I think about it, I think its the pole and not a flat surface on the inside of the gate the bugs me the most. As long as the step inside the gate doesn't rattle.

Or maybe I could find someone on here that wanted the tailgate step and didn't get it, and work out a deal to trade them tailgates as long as they where also brand new and Ruby red.

I will not buy a truck with out it. I've had it since they came out it doesn't rattle it's a tight fit. I live in a high salt area haven't had any problems.
It's so nice getting in and out especially on a Raptor. My dealer says people don't like it because dirt and junk get on the tailgate by the handle. So, they don't order them.

I had heard you could do that...I like the step, but I think I'll eventually remove the handle and get the flat tailgate panel!

I'd definitely get it again!
