Sounds like your hooped since you didn't get anything in writing, unless you can negotiate with them back to the agreed upon price.

They can't do this. You pay the price at the time in which the truck was ordered. It's not your fault if they take months to deliver the truck in those months there was a price increase. There is only one situation where you are responsible ... if you made a change to your order and thus your order was resubmitted. Then you are liable for any price increase when the 2nd order was submitted.

I better not get told anything like this from my dealer when my truck finally arrives. I ordered in April at an agreed upon price, it's not my fault they took until August to get an allocation....pretty sure I'd leave with my deposit as opposed to doing business with them just on principle alone.

You should have a dealer order confirmation from your original order with the retail price and the dealer invoice and the price they are selling it to you for. If you don't have that, your probably sol.

Vehicle Order Confirmations from your dealer clearly state "this is not an invoice" You are responsible for any price increases from Ford..

So even though the order was placed back in may, the price was never a done deal?

The price increase is not a huge deal to me. It's mostly principle. No heads up? They didn't even tell me about it in the end. I looked at the price and saw something was up so I asked.

This same dealership lied to me about the truck being built months ago when it wasn't even in production yet.

Nothing in writing other than credit check. Order was put in march 20th.

There is about 1000-1500 increase in price.

Also, I was never notified of the price change until just now.

So no contract, thus I assume no money changed hands either? If their was an implied contract and you put down a good faith deposit on the truck, you MIGHT have a chance. But, what are you going todo, hire a lawyer? Doubt it.

I would ask the dealer to prove to you this is a price increase passed on to you from Ford Motor.

Bottom line, like Stoner said, how bad do you want the truck!

Good luck either way...keep us all posted...

I discussed this very issue when I ordered my truck and I was told that I was only responsible for the price of the truck when my order was submitted. How can ford expect buyers to be responsible for price increases to a product when they can't deliver the product?

This is a simple matter. Build the truck on the Ford website compare it to you order, the difference will tell you how much the price has went up. If they are lying the they are being unethical.

That is a great point....Unfortunately in this day and age, one needs to get things on paper as a valid contract.

This is a $50K plus purchase, i would think most folks would want something better to hang their hat on than a verbal from a sales manager or a simple print out.

That is just me.

Your dealer can make what ever deal he wants, but any price increase by Ford from the time the vehicle is ordered till its delivered is passed on to the dealer. Its up to him if he wants to pass it on to you. I assume most do.
