Ford Raptor 2013 Remote Start & Smart phone

i have smart start its very spotty works about 75% of the time.

its the signal,common problem and works everytime with the hand held remote.

the hand held remote works off a different frequency. the smarstart requires gps sognal. if the unit is not mounted correctly you might have problems. we have never had any issus with them, in all the ones we have installed

For some reason 2013's did not come with remote start in the middle east . they came on 11-12 models. mine is 801A with no remote start and no 2x on the key , I had to order the keys with the remote start system. From the states, asked the dealer they said its not included for gulf spec 13 models. Now I need to drop it at the dealer , so they can figure out if they can fix it or not.

Can someone explain what this thread is about? Is this a module I can add to my 2011 with remote start so I can statt it with a phone and have better range? If so what's it called and where can I buy it.

strange. since ford never made a gulf spec raptor. not sure why any 801a would come without remote start.

you can start with your phone, but you need the module, and a remote start alarm. the smartstart will only work with dei products. if you want better remote range, then you should look into the viper 5704 and the 5904.

thought about it after i wrote it and figured out that was what you ment. thanks.

where your center channel speaker is. you can mount it in there. thats where i have done all of them. the gps signal will work through plastic, however once it gets metal between the satellite and antenna, you will lose signal. up by your speaker, there is no metal above other than your roof, so that will be the best spot. you will be able to pick up at least 4-5 of the gps satellites at all times.

What do you mean dei products? I guess to rephrase the question, if someone with remote start on their raptor wanted to control it via an app they would need to install the module and then it would work?
