Hey Big Blue, how does the MORV handle at speed in the rough and twisties?

Like a champ. Its got 33" tires (unlike some of those little dounut tires on pop-up trailers)...So she goes as fast as Big Blue goes...:head3:

Alternative to towing a trailer...it's a Raptor camper pop-up.

Found this on the Expedition Portal website:

Camper and Truck Photos - Page 44 - Expedition Portal

The units appear to be custom made by Phoenix Popup Campers (in, of all places, Denver, Colorado).

Is this Texas couple on FRF? Maybe they could tell us about their camper?

As soon as I get back from your SD trip! :Big Laugh:

That way I will be able to provide a comprehensive write-up with pics of how the MORV handled; TRR, Silver Lake and South Dakota.

3 runs, 2 months and about 4,000 miles here we come!

hello all,

I am the dude in the pics with the black raptor pop up camper. The camper is from Coyote RV in Denver and it is a Pulse SC. Send along any questions.

To answer a few: I have no suspension upgrades. My truck is completely stock, however I want to add a front arb locker and winch in the future. The camper sits inside the tailgate and centers the weight more over the truck. My rear doesn't sag much ;)

Also, the truck performs fine with the camper. I lose 1 mpg with it on. It has 4 ratchet strap tie downs which secure it and am able to off road with it at moderate speeds. On a recent trip to Big Bend, I did have a problem with my fridge door popping open with Original Coors flying about. To fix the problem, I just put a our backpacks in the back to barricade the door.

Thanks,
Sam

I use a "sportz" bed tent and "airbedz" when I go to mudfest and such! love having a long bed since im 6'8 :)

I like that type of product but it does require emptying out the bed each night on the trail. And it would help to buy one of those inflatable mattresses that fit inside the pickup box.

I would love to see something like this on top of a tonneau cover like the backflip.

Can you install (load? dock?) it with one person or do you have to have someone on each side to lower the legs evenly? How long does it take?

Awesome setup!
