Ok, I installed the blinkers. Front is amber while blinking then white when parking.

The rear only shows red because that's the color of the lens it shows through.

The speed of blinking has increased. I'd say twice as fast. It's a bit annoying, but I think I can live with it.

Last questions... Do you have to remove the whole front light assembly in order to get to the headlight side reflectors? I didn't have to remove it to get to the front flashers.

Is it just those 3 bolts or does it snap out with the clips?

I'm sure I could figure it out, but free help from someone who has done it is better.

Thanks

Tom

What color were your rear bulbs? Mine were white/amber switchbacks. So when they were installed the difference from white to amber didn't have nearly as much of a contrast from parking lights to brakes as the stock setup. I want white LEDs in the rear so they go from white to bright white so the taillights go from red to bright red, and not from red to orangy red.

The flashers is interesting, I guess the system has enough resistance with rear stock bulbs and front LEDs to not go into hyperflash mode. But with LEDs front and rear its not enough and goes into hyperflash. You may only need to install a pair of the resistors, maybe not all 6. I'd do 2 at a time and see when it goes back to normal. I wouldn't leave it with the hyperflash, you already have the parts, and it's not only annoying to the driver, to the people in front or behind you it looks kind of stupid IMO with the really fast flashing bulbs. Either looks like they were too cheap to do it the right way and install the resistors, or it looks like they have a blown bulb, because on older vehicles a blown bulb would cause it to hyperflash.

You'll have to post a pic with the running lights on, curious how it looks with the 2 less amber lights up front and a pair of white ones now.

As for the front reflector lights, I pulled my headlights to install them. It's 3 bolts (2 on the top, 1 behind the rubber guard). THere's also a screw/pushpin that holds the rubber to the headlight, I left it attached, just unbolted the light, pulled straight forward, pivoted the light around, swapped the bulb, and stuck the assembly back.

I noticed the change in flash speed immediately after I changed the rear bulbs and before I changed the front bulb.

So, exactly how do the resistors install? Do I strip the ends back and curve them around the bottom of each side of the bulb and then snap the bulb in place? I really have no idea.

Hmm that's interesting. When I installed 1 taillight worth and saw the LEDs were the wrong ones, I did test the flashers and they were normal. Maybe once both tails are done it may blink faster. I had to take them back out though because I'm not driving around with switchbacks in the taillights.

For the resistors if/when I have to install them I planned on using these style wire taps:

Wire-Tap.jpg

Not those exact ones but that same general type. Tap into the wires off the bulb, and attach spade connectors to the resistors, and plug the resistors into the wire taps, along with the resistor mounted up somewhere behind the light. You really want a good positive connection, either soldering, or a good wire tap. Just sticking the wire ends behind the bulb is asking for issues down the road.

something along the size of this 12w LED reverse light was what I thought I'd be getting for the reverse and cargo lamps. Something around the same physical size as the factory bulb with maximum output power to maximize light output.

I appreciate our input and assistance Reptar. I'm a bit puzzled by the silence and lack of guidance from the sponsor.

I would expect some instruction or a notice prior to purchase that there is none and to purchase only if you are able to handle the wiring. It doesn't appear to be a hard wiring job, but I'm not generally familiar with resistors and would prefer to know how to do this as not to damage my truck.

I think AMB needs to do a little work on some instructions. I think it would be an easy addition to the product and would eliminate these issues.

Yeah I'm trying to keep my patience and not jump to any guns here but it's hard. I'm just telling myself "it's the weekend, wait till Monday, can't give a vendor flack for not answering on the weekend". So I hope I get a response back today on what missing & replacement parts I'm getting, or if I can return the kit in full.

If we can resolve everything, and I get the kit that I feel is worth the $250 I paid, then I'd be more than willing to write up directions for AMB's kit for all you guys, and for him to include in future kits.

Ok, please correct me if I'm wrong here. So far what I've gathered here is instructions for the resistors are a HUGE must do for future orders, A sheet with the bulbs pictured and saying where they get installed at also will be added.

Tsawyer and Reptar both need 2 extra dome lights. Reptar, I saw you and a few other members figured out why some trucks have 1 dome and some have 3 dome lights. Thank you for that.

As far as the visor lights go, I can add that for the future. I've never been asked for those and Ive never looked into them. I'll look into them now. From that pic Reptar, it looks like it could be the same bulb as the license plate is, what do you think?

For the cargo lights, we can try a larger bulb but once again, i've never had any one say anything but good things about the current one. I never thought it was an issue.

For the reverse lights, you can ask humvee21 on here, i've been looking for a much brighter bulb for sometime now without much luck. I might have to try a non-LED bulb but make sure it still has the same color output. IDK right now, i'll look into this.

This is all the issues I got out of this thread and the other one made by Reptar, if anyone has more issues or something I missed PLEASE post up and let me know. I'm very willing to work with you all to keep everyone happy and I'm not afraid to post all this out in the forums instead of taking it to private messages. So like I said, let me know please.

I think that about covers it. I'd appreciate the instructions for the resistors soon. The hyperflash is starting to bother me :)

That is definitely a help. As I mentioned I was able to figure it out no problem by process of elimination on the bulbs, but labels or pics definitely help ease the process, and reading of guys breaking clips on the dome lights, etc. it's always helpful knowing the tricks to remove parts. I'll still extend my offer to write up instructions with photos for you if we can resolve all the issues with my kit.

No, I was missing all 3 rear dome lights, and I got the wrong taillight LEDs. It seems some other members did too but still used them anyway. I'll resummarize what my kit needs:
1- 3 missing rear dome light LEDs
2- 4 Correct taillight LEDs (white/white instead of white/amber)
3- Missing visor light LEDs
4- Larger cargo light LEDs
5- Larger reverse light LEDs

As for the truck differences we have seemed to confirm it, moon roof trucks get 1 rear dome light, non-moon roof trucks get 3 rear dome lights.

As far as the visor lights go, I can add that for the future. I've never been asked for those and Ive never looked into them. I'll look into them now. From that pic Reptar, it looks like it could be the same bulb as the license plate is, what do you think?

Since the kit was advertised as a *COMPLETE* interior/exterior kit, my opinion is those visor LEDs should be included. $250 is a LOT of money for 21 LEDs and 6 resistors, and including 2 mini LEDs for the visors shouldn't be more than $1 more in parts. They are smaller than the license plate bulbs. Speaking of which, the license plate LEDs are also smaller than ones that can fit in there, but I'm okay with my tag lights not being super bright, don't need it any easier for the po-po to read them lol.

For the cargo lights, we can try a larger bulb but once again, i've never had any one say anything but good things about the current one. I never thought it was an issue.

Don't get me wrong, the current ones are "good", but they're not GREAT. More LEDs = more light, otherwise why wouldn't all of the lights in the kit be the single LED ones like the tag lights. The 5 LED ones fit great in the front dome light and the front corners, but in the cargo lamp and reverse light they're undersized. I attached a photo of the size difference in the bulbs.

Here's what I expected for the cargo lights...13w will fit in there

Both from ebay, they are different types but look similar. The 7.5w fit in reverse lights, no issues. The 13w fit in the cargo lights with no issues. Both are a huge upgrade to stock, the 13w are just ridiculous! I didn't try, but it appears the 13w would be too long for the reverse lights.

Side note... I just installed front 3157 LED signals and 194 side markers, nice surprise was they didn't require resistors.

There is a 6 page thread on FRF that has several other options, and they're all far brighter than the tiny 5 LED ones in the kit. Here's what i expected in my kit for a reverse LED.

Here are the Pics of

Not sure if his pics will show, but he only used 5w LEDs and they are WAY brighter than the tiny 5 LED ones in the kit I have now.

I really appreciate working with us, there is a lot of potential for a 1 stop shop kit, I just think it needs to fit a $50k truck.

I PM'ed you my email and cell number, along with the 2 ways we can finally close this all out, can you please call me tomorrow and let me know how we can proceed forward? I'm not impatient, but this mod has been in the works for almost a month since the time I paid and I want my truck finished 100%, I'll throw the kid at Christmas reference out there again lol. Going through posts back and forth takes too long, so I think a quick call will make it easier for both of us.

PM sent.

Pic attached of stock bulb size difference between the front dome light & front corner reflector bulb with the right sized LED, and the larger cargo lamp & reverse light.

Ok, I think their was some miscommunication from the start. #1 and #2 are my fault and will be corrected asap, we've both agreed on that from the get go. As for #3, their not missing, they were never suppose to be there. I advertise this as a complete kit but i've never included/mentioned visor bulbs. Does your offer still stand to give me the part # for them? If so, please let me know what it is. Since you said its smaller then the License Plate bulb I have a feeling its going to be T5 based.

Also, I made a thread with pictures and labels showing exactly what bulbs I sell in my LED Package kit and where they go and I've never mentioned higher wattage bulbs for the cargo and reverse lights. I don't want you or anyone who reads this to feel like I mislead them in anyway because I don't feel that I have at all. Technically, you received the correct product thats included in my kit for the Cargo and License Plate bulbs. BUT since you are unhappy with them though, I'll do you a favor and I will talk to my supplier to see about the bulbs you suggested to me and I'll see if I can get those or anything similar for you.

As far as the price of the kit goes, $250 is NOT a lot for what is included. The cost of the OEM Puddle lamps by themselves without labor and material is a good chunk of the price right there. Just like you I want this resolved as quick as possible so I will get back to you as soon as I find out something on the higher wattage bulbs from my supplier.
