OK, since no messages for a while, here's a questions for the group. 2011 loaded, sans graphics on order since end December. Was thinking of replacing stock muffler with either Magnaflow or Magnapacks. Questions:

1. How much difference between the two? Sound level wise. Looking for deeper rumble, but still have to go to work and not scare the regular people.:)
2. Which size of each would you recommend?
3. Cold air intake, helpful or just damage waiting to happen?
4. One shop I talked to said no reason to replace stock pipes as stainless anyways, so is there a gain with a replacement cat-back system c/w replace muffler and tips?

Ok thanks for the help. Questions all I can do till she arrives.

JP,

Thanks for the quick reply. I did listen to these like 100 times each, just very hard to tell what they would sound like in person, each system different pipes, some full cat-back systems, was wondering if someone had a Magnaflow and switched to a Magnapack with the rest stock exhaust.

Thanks again.

No i just switched from stock to the Magnapack 14419 (after listening to SOCOM's about 100 times). Although I matched the original one-muffler setup, I think I want to add a second one and go true dual from the cats back. I'll need some advice on whether or not to reduce the pipe diameter if backpressure's an issue.
I agree with you though - every setup sounds different. I found the sound I liked best from listening online - then put that muffler on. It doesn't sound the same as online, but I'm really happy with it.

Is the stock 3" in and 3" out? Just wanted to know when looking at specific mufflers?

Was thinking a a custom set-up with duels dumping out before rear tires each side. Not sure if this is a good idea. Don't want to mess with it too much.

I swapped out two hi flow cats and 2 flow masters and went with a true dual dumping out at the back corners.

Went with 2.5" pipes to provide a little more low end torque. Certainly more of a deeper growl, very quiet until you get on the gas then it comes to life. No problems talking on the phone or listening to the radio.

Yeap, works now. Boy that's short video. Would love to hear it on the gas a little.
I know- I had to leave the truck before I could shoot anything of value. Had spent the weekend doing all my mods, but will shoot more next time I'm home. Here's a pic after all the mods:

Exhaust tip is just barely visible poking out of the back corner. Total cost for two hi-flow cats, custom pipes throughout and 2 flow masters ~$850. Took about 6.5 hours, and the "artist" even signed the inside of the body so you know he takes pride in his work.
