So I'm looking to mount a rear facing amber and was thinking of using a single D2 or Dually, so I'm looking for recommendations on which one to go for.

Also, what light pattern?

-Spot
-Flood
-Diffused

Last question, any recommendations on mounting it? I will eventually get a bed rack system and add a place to mount it there, but until then I'm looking at what Treypal did with a simple "L" bracket.

Of what you listed, I think I'd do the diffused. You want people to see you, but not necessarily be blinded by it either.

I just got the Hella Comet 450 with the H3 bulb. $44 shipped. It's not a rigid, but I don't need one on the back. This will be used and mounted only when needed.

Treypal has a similar one and worked perfectly (blindingly?) in Texas and Colorado.

Any pics with it mounted and on? And I'm looking at the dually because the compact size and LED factor. But that I'm open to suggestions like this.

Right, and as I'm sure you know, once that dust starting kicking up, I want them to see me from a mile away, just because.

Just an FYI I did a duallie at first and the light is very directional even though I used a flood duallie. If you aren't looking at it straight on you can't see it at all. The halogen works much better to see from different angles.

How about a Dually or D2 with a diffused 60 degree lens.

Would it be legal to use the amber light in a snow storm or fog on the highway.

This is Trey's. I wish I had a picture of when I was following him to the shop at Texana. It cut through the dust cloud great.

haven't installed mine yet. Getting the wire and such tomorrow. I'm going to do mine a little differently and do some quick disconnects in the wiring. Thinking of plastidipping the bracket I made also.

Thats my thinking about the difused too, i'm wondering if anyone has used one yet.

As for the snow storm use, not sure, but great question.

Please post pics when you do install it. I'm still on the fence about drilling in to the bed of the truck.

Are you going to use one of the upfitter switches or use a different switch located somewhere else?

I have some of the Rigid SRM Flush mounts with 60 degree diffused lens on order that I will be using as reverse lights. I will let you know how they look.
