OEM Bulb vs. PnP HID vs. Retrofit HID

[Raptor Retrofit]

I put together a little comparison in the last few days. Its not the best spot for pics and I am no where close to a pro photographer but the difference from oem to a proper HID upgrade really is crazy. I actually drove out here with the oem in, never again will I hook up the halogens, hahaha.

- 1st pic in each series is brand new headlights with OEM Sylvania bulbs

- 2nd pic is 55w H13 bulb(all I had - 5000K) but driven by a 35w Ballast

- 3rd pic is Morimoto Mini H1(without shrouds on) XB35 bulb (5000K), 35w ballast

- 4th pic is Lexus LS460, Osram CBI bulb (5000K) 35w ballast


1st set - lows from behind - you can use the ski jumps in the back left as a reference to how wide each one is.










2nd set - lows from side










3rd set - High beam

OK I was only getting red X, Ill reload them.

No 55w because I have no 55w ballast. Plus brightness would be irrelevant here between the HID pics because they are all a bit overexposed. More or less its just showing the different beam patterns.

Dang, those Lexus bulbs even light up the sky.

Seriously,big difference in those!

I took the LS460 last night and it must have been a little earlier. The other shots were all taken tonight in full darkness.

Clearly the photos show what great cutoff lines the HID retrofirts have not to mention the light they throw out!!!
