Sticking with Gen 2?

I own a 2019 and 2021….the 21 is a 37. About the only thing I like better on the 21 is wireless CarPlay and the sync 4 screen. Maybe the shocks are a bit better on the 21, but to me it does not justify the cost. The front profile of the 21 looks slightly more impressive, but not that much. I think the steering wheel button controls are place much better on the 19. The only reason I bought the 21 is I needed a spare in case the 19 was crashed. Supply chain issues! Overall, I think the 19 is a much better truck and suits my needs well.

Everyone makes it seem like the interior is a night and day difference, but I really don’t get it. My close friend has a 22 Tremor, which is basically the same inside, and I’ve had the chance to drive several Gen 3’s now. The bigger screen and infotainment is utterly lost on me, couldn’t care less. Aside from that, the interior to me is same same, but different. Different materials and look, but I really don’t feel like it’s any different in build quality or luxury, it’s just an aesthetic update in my opinion.

I have a 20 with only 15k, and since CA has no sales tax credits on trades, I’d spend at least 30k to upgrade, which just isn’t worth it to me. Once my Gen 2 has a lot more miles and wear, and adm’s are gone, I might consider it then. The only difference I care about is the rear suspension. The exhaust is cool too, but pretty happy with the Gen 2 and SPD mid pipe.
I recently moved from California to Idaho and never thought of sales tax credits, thanks for the info! California is a total rip off, have fun paying for reparations

One of the things i really like about the Gen 3, as far as I can tell it doesn't skip gears when shifting and it is overall much smoother. Sport mode shifts feel legit and doesn't slam into 5th gear. The HP may be the same on paper but the 3 is much peppier.

Being able to run the exhaust in baja around town is a riot, then I can switch it to quiet when I get tired of it.

I prefer the Gen 2 seats though, they seemed to fit me a little better.
The reason is that Ford torque limited the Gen 2 in 1st (and maybe 2nd) gear - due to wheel hope and the ****** leaf springs ford used. The gen 3 is not torque limited.

I kinda want to get into a gen 3. but it needs the heated steering wheel, that is ******** not to have for that price. I'd go antimatter blue with 37 package, costs is just too high for what you get in the truck. Will wait to see if market falls a bit or whatever happens happens. Or I just build my truck up more..

Hahaha, please don’t even get me started.
Just FYI, I moved from Napa to Idaho in 2019. In California I was paying about $1000 per year to register my 2019 Raptor, in Idaho, it is 220 for two years. Same insurance company (AAA) is literally half, for move coverage. I owned a 1600 sq ft house in Napa and now own a 3000 sq ft in Idaho. In California my PG&E bill averaged about 500+, in Idaho it is less than $200. In California I paid about $12k for property tax on a house they said was worth $900k, in Idaho I bought a house for 1.1 million and I paid $6200 for property tax. I paid 9.4% in state income tax to California, in Idaho it is 6%. It is much safer and cleaner in Idaho, but it does get cold during the winter, however, I have never experienced a black out or inhaled smoke from wildfires in Idaho. Lastly, gasoline is about $1 less per gallon and almost everything is less expensive. Plus Idaho has a sales tax rebate!!…..sorry to get you started!

Nothing on the Gen 3 worth me spending another $100k+ for, and the front end of the Gen 3 looks like someone wiped their ass with the face of a Gen 1(the Gen 1 aesthetically overall looks much better than Gen 3!). The Gen 3 resembles a neutered and refined Raptor to take to Starbucks....

I still had my 2011 Gen1 when I drove it from Orange County to Frisco, TX when I moved here back in 2015. You should have seen the smile on my face the first time I filled up the tank in TX ;)
Every time I go back to Commiefornia for anything I am excited to return to Texas. 91 is expensive garbage there, and 93 here is great.
