I’m not sure how Canada works however I believe @BabaMike is from Vancouver and possibly has more insight on that.

I know for the US, Ford will issue you a VIV and build date directly via email once you are given the allocation.

I live in Canada. Does that make a difference? The dealer is saying they have 1 allocation left. I was not issued a VIN. Are they not being honest?
Typical process in Canada as far as my experience goes

Let’s say Dealer has 4 allocations
Dealer builds 4 orders and uploads to Ford order system
Few days/weeks/months later Ford contacts Dealer they can only fulfil 2 (or ??) orders at the moment
Dealer decides which 2 get built first, in my case it was their Owner and myself
Vin numbers get assigned very Quickly 1-2 weeks and build dates around the same time.
Other 2 orders just sit there waiting to be picked up by ford.
If not picked up for current year they fall onto next year.

Nothing is stopping the dealers to just keep putting orders into Ford system just remember Ford will only pick orders when they allocate something to that dealer until then those orders not worth anything.

This process might be very similar to the US, except one thing I never got any email or updates from Ford for all my orders. Dealer gets all the updates until a VIN is assigned from there on I was able to track online.

After selling my 37 and waiting 247 days for the R, it was sitting in my driveway when I got home this week. Best decision I ever made, the heated wheel and lighting features would be nice but this truck is about the history it is making. 15 years from now when some of these are worth 7 figures, you will be glad to have the first year edition.

The dealer is saying they 100% have 1 allocation left. That is what I took. I guess I will see soon. They already had 2 come in that sold. I will Provide an update here as soon I get anything.

Cleaned it up to give the group some Truck P*rn. One tank of gas and it was worth the wait. Biggest worry between the 21 37” and this one, not burning through rear tires in year one:)

Were you given an allocation for 2023 and issued a VIN and build date?

If not your order will be pushed and on hold for a possible 2024 allocation. I’m told by my source at Ford Performance that Ford is not issuing any more VIN’s for 2023 R’s at this time.
Not sure that's accurate. I just got my Vin and Build date today.
