I ordered my R as a vehicle that will alternatively be driven with a Cadillac Escalade. I’m not at all worried about my home garage, but have been a bit worried about my office parking garage in downtown Houston. I’m wondering if someone who has taken delivery of an R can take an actual height measurement (notwithstanding that Ford seems to indicate that the R is the the same height as the Raptor 37”). I mean a measurement to those plastic boxes on rear of the the roof (the highest point). My garage height at the office is 7’. I’m a bit concerned, maybe for no reason. I want to check with an actual truck. Thanks.

80.6" tall according to Ford. I don't think there's any reason not to believe the official numbers from the manufacturer. The tallest point is near the rear of the cab and the R has adjusted springs rates for the additional weight.

I know you are likely right; I’m just really “particular“. It would be even better if someone with an R could attest that they’ve been in a 7’ parking garage. I can see myself “ducking” (‘cause it helps!) inside the truck as I enter the garage!

I get it. That's not much buffer room; 3.5" or so.

I drove into the garage at Lifetime Greenway on Friday night and the clearance in there is marked as 6'6". That garage is actually taller than the signs that hang down, but the signs are all probably 6'6" or 6'8" high. If you have 7' clearance in your garage downtown you will be fine.

Haha, well I ducked, and as you know that helps! Actually, I wasn't too concerned because I drive my TRX into that garage all of the time and I know the signs are lower than anything else in there. And not all of the signs are the same height. I clear the first sign on the lower level, but have to drive around all the other ones because they hit the XM antenna on the TRX. The signs are hanging, so they do give when you hit them, so you just have to go slow. Pretty sure the R sits a touch lower than the TRX, and the TRX has the antenna on the back that sticks up another 2"-3".

A number of us won’t rest until we have the actual measurement from the plastic boxes on the back of the roof to the floor… I'm not taking a chance with $130K+.
