Current ‘19 raptor owner…selling it this year…what should I replace it with…37 raptor, TRX or F250?

That seems a little harsh…I’ve done a ton of “truck stuff” with it.
Well let's see.
My Raptor has a cargo capacity of 1000lbs (1050 or something like that)
So basically 4 grown adult Americans and the truck is loaded to max.
Regular F150 is around 1700 lbs
Raptor towing is about 7500 lbs
Regular F150 (properly equipped) is pushing 14000 (almost double)
Pretty much any 3.5 ecoboost or 5.0 F150 can tow 11,000 lbs
So please explain how a Raptor is a good "truck" truck.

So why are you hanging out in the raptor forum again?

Well I am here for Raptor stuff.

I never said the Raptor was a piece of garbage. I love my Raptor.

I said it isn't a very good truck.

It's towing and hauling abilities are much closer to a Ford Ranger than an F150, let alone a F250/350

There is no perfect vehicle. If there was we would all own the same thing. As such I do not lie to myself nor others about the capabilities of my vehicles.

For example I don't care what engine Dodge puts in a minivan it will still be a ****** sports car.

Just look at all the threads here about improving the towing of the Raptor. Which in doing so normally diminishes the actual Raptor part of a Raptor.

Look I get it, many people place looks above performance.

Another thing an F150 does better than a Raptor is MPG. On average an 3.5 ecoboost F150 will get about 35% better MPG than a Raptor.

The Raptor is a niche product that has went mainstream. Which in the end is good for all of us.

thanks. All I said was that I can do “truck stuff” with my raptor. I’m not blind to the fact that it’s not a f250 or even a f150 when it comes to towing and payload. I think we are all aware of that. But it’s still a good “truck” in my opinion. Of course…we all have different ideas of what qualifies as a truck. I’m not trying g to argue though…just thought it was a little harsh. I still haul tons of stuff that no minivan or car can handle.
Thanks for your thoughts though. The whole point of this thread is to hear everyone’s thoughts on the pros and cons of each vehicle which will help me start to narrow my search. Again appreciate the feedback.
Any one else care to share their thoughts?

I feel you are getting butt hurt and think I am disrespecting the oh holy Raptor.

Far from it, in its element the Raptor has no equal.

But in America a "truck" or "pickup" is normally judged by its towing and payload capacity.

I moved a couch the other day with my Raptor, (even though the bed was a little short) because I didn't have time to get my F350 out.

By your account the Ford Ranchero and Chevy El Camino. Where excellent "trucks"

Personally you are putting emotions into a logical issue.

If all you're towing is a 6k lb boat or similar, a Raptor is fine. The Gen 3 brakes are way better than the Gen 2, almost too touchy sometimes.

I would add overload bumpstops if it sags too much. On my '15 Ram 2500 I added softer coils all the way around and added bumpstops that I could easily take off when not towing. Not perfect, but it all worked great.

No way I would ride around in a HD truck all the time when I only tow occasionally.

So you are saying the El Camino was a excellent truck??

(LOL emoji didn't come through I guess)

look we should all be friends here. And my intention wasn't or isn't to p i s s you off.

Every vehicle has its short comings.

Look at my original post here when i said. Figure out what you NEED before what you WANT.

LOL! Yep! That would be a perfect world. Unfortunately, that won’t fly due to my garage/driveway/wife.
Anyone know when the ‘23 f250’s will be delivered?
Also, anyone come from a platinum f150 to a raptor or vice versa? Just curious what the biggest differences are.
