Ya I hear you. It’s hard enough getting the dealers to approve the work, let alone making sure we’re getting the correct parts installed. It’s really on Ford for not having better communication about what the issue is with the original part and letting dealers know exactly what to look for.
Since I work for an automotive dealer I 100% agree this is on Ford. I understand why this is not a recall but a proper bulletin should be provided instead of the SSM. The dealer can only do so much without the backing from the manufacturer. I will say some dealers take a few extra steps than other dealers but in the end it goes back on Ford.

Keep us updated if you start to hear the clunk again. I hope yours is fixed. When I picked mine up on Friday from the dealer I was evening wondering if they did something to my truck because it wasn't as loud, but the more I drove it the worse it got.

My dealer also confirmed that the part number is correct just now. The old struts removed from the truck actually had completely different part numbers. I didn’t check them before they were removed so I wasn’t sure what the part number was. These are the struts that were factory installed and replaced with the new AQ/AH part numbers

Have the same issue. Dealership didn’t give me any grief for having eibach leveling springs up front. Shocks are on national back order. How long have these been taking to come in?

After driving around for a week I’d say it’s 90% better than before. Definitely a lot tighter in the steering wheel, not as much feedback over rough roads at lower speeds. I do feel a hint of a clunk but I’m going to assume it’s the threshold for Ford saying “it’s supposed to feel like that.”

That said, the biggest takeaway is how pronounced the rear clunk is now that the front is fixed. Man, how did I miss that before?? It’s like I have golf balls in the bed of my truck going over rough road. I’m definitely going to take it in for the rears but I’m pretty satisfied with how the front replacement turned out.

Thanks for the update. My dealer won’t do anything about the rear at this time.
Since your fronts are 90% better, I’m going to do some work myself on mine. I haven’t even bothered to check things myself since the SSM was straightforward about replacing struts but maybe the dealer left something loose? If I don’t find anything I will replace the right front strut myself and order the part number that you had installed.

Before you go through that trouble, see if you can drive a post-SSM build raptor to confirm what you’re feeling isn’t to be expected. There’s gotta be someone on here in TN with a “fixed” GEN3 that’s willing to do a quick drive.

Also, if your dealer is refusing to do anything about the rear it sounds like it’s time to get Ford hotline involved. Dealers don’t have any obligation to a specific customer sadly, but lemon laws will force Ford to get it fixed or replaced. I unfortunately had to go that route with a GT350 after the engine blew up in the first 7k miles.

I will try to find another GEN3 in my area with updated parts. What gets me though is mine is actually worse now than before I took it in for the front strut replacement.

Dealer just called after dropping mine off for inspection - they want to only replace the rears after I stated I felt it from all 4 corners (specifically in the steering wheel and front floorboards of the front seats).

Waiting on a call from the Service Manager to see if I can convince them to order all 4 instead…

I had my truck in about 2 weeks ago and they replaced both rear shocks. I would have sworn it was coming from the front as well, but replacing the rears seems to have fixed my clunk completely. It feels like such a better truck. I can't believe I had to wait over a year and 25,000 miles before my Raptor rides like it's supposed to.

I did have to find a different dealership than I purchased the vehicle from before I could get anythingat all done. Heritage Ford in Modesto, CA was absolutely worthless for me on everything I asked them to look at and told me multiple times that it was all normal and I was wasting their time by complaining about it, not just shocks, everything. Terrible dealership experience. Price Ford in Turlock, CA has been close to excellent getting these shocks replaced and a few other issues I've had pop up.

Now if they can fix my exhaust rattle I might be happy.

That makes me feel much better, just got off with the service manager who told me they will only replace the fronts if they still hear the noise after replacing the rears. This dealer is accommodating within reason, so I'm not terribly upset. Just frustrating because the dealer is 1 hour each way from me. Trying to avoid multiple return trips for the same issue.

Had an issue where my auto high beams seemed to just stop working recently too. They're replacing a module that runs that feature no questions asked, which is nice. My passenger window keeps failing to go up when I use the auto up feature as well, starts, stutters, then stops and goes back down an inch - apparently that's a BCM re-programming issue? Hopefully this visit resolves all of my issues.
