The Raptor is exclusive to start, so isn’t the TRX. Aside from dealer markups- which are not always the case but did effect not only “base” raptors but also used ones Gen2 & Gen1 - and shouldn’t be used for a fair “comparison”
so what is a fair comparison?
A base G-wagon is down 280+hp & 190tq compared to a Raptor R lol
LOL is right! Mercs? On a truck forum? c’mon man....
how can you call 700hp/640tq (& I believe it’s underrated tbh) out of 5.2 liters not impressive
It’s impressive. Is anyone saying it’s not impressive?
The Raptor is a much more complete design & much more purpose built & that will show off-road & over repeated use in general I’d expect the Raptor-R would age more gracefully than a TRX given similar use.
I can see this.
if you wanna run in AWD The Raptor is the only truck on the road w/ a bespoke T-case that truly allows for the closest thing you can get to true “AWD w/ a button”
Fair point.
Not sure what something is “worth” - only worth what the market will bear. But if you’re asking whether a Raptor-R (or TRX for that matter) is “worth” $100-$110k when you can get a G550 for $140k
True about the market, at least with the market we currently have.
again... G550. Why?

what, you wouldn’t compare two completely different vehicles built for
different purposes? We’ve reached the point where folks are using the top priced Mercedes’ suv model to justify the cost of a ford truck lol

Old #7, all day, every day over GB, possibly the most overrated, and definitely overpriced spirit on the market.
So you'd rather have a TRX then? :anitoof:

For the record, I've never purchased Garrison Brothers. I did taste some when I toured the distillery though. It tasted like booze, that's all I know about it. That and it's too much $$ for my medicine.

You just reminded me. I need to stop by the 'pharmacy' on my way home from work tonight.

pick up some Old Forester 1920 (prohibition style). For medicinal purposes ;-)

We'll see. I tend to stick with the cheap stuff when it comes to alcohol. If I buy something and don't like it, I've wasted my money. If I buy and like it, I'll probably have to start buying more of it. It's not a "buy once, cry once" situation. I just want good reliable transportation.

I think y’all missed my point. A Raptor R is MSRP $110, but you can’t touch it for less than $140k. I was asking the question as to why I would consider spending $140k for a Raptor R. If the reality is Raptor R = $110, TRX = $105… it’s 6 of one and half a dozen of the other…

TRX vs a 3rd Gen Raptor… I’ll take TRX all day long… that’s just my opinion…

It’s the absurd markup on the R that really befuddles me.
