What sort of impact will the R have on the price of regular Raptors? Couldn't help but noticed that the MSRP for the R is about the same price as Raptors are going for with ADM. Obviously, the R will have ADM, but when you're spending that kind of money, and have the ability to spend that kind of money, do you really care if it costs $110k or $140k?

The other point to consider is that a lot of people are in a Raptor because it was perceived as the best. Putting aside the argument of TRX vs Raptor, 35s vs 37s for a moment, a reg Raptor is definitely not the best anymore. So if you're in it for the title, your in for the R and R only here on out. And if you can't afford the best, do you go back to a regular F150 now, rather than a 2nd/3rd place option?

What I mean to say is, if you want to look good in the Starbucks drive through, Raptor might not be your vehicle of choice anymore. And while Ford may still sell all the Raptors they make, they might not get the stupid money for it anymore, or as much as they used to. Wouldn't be too surprised to see Raptors for MSRP are pretty common come January '23.

That would be great news. It's going to depend on how many people make the jump. It does seem like it will make a difference at the margin, where the ADM sticks, or can be stuck. I'm hoping I can upgrade at a good price in 2024 or 2025. Sounds like Gen 3 will be the last of the gas only Raptors. Which might make it the last of the Raptor. Dunno, hybrids are heavy. Hybrid Raptor is going to be TRX heavy. No bueno.

Not in the current market. Your comparison is not apples to apples. You aren't figuring the ADM on the R, and don't forget 109k is the base price as well. Then add in the fact the numbers will likely be more limited than the Ecoboost Raptors, and I don't see it affecting current prices much. The only thing that will affect current pricing is for supply and demand to tilt more favorably towards the consumer.

Depends on what you consider “Best”. I have never had an issue with having a eco boost. I drive from houston to Nevada a few times a year and I don’t care about not having “muh V8 sound” or the fuel mileage that comes with it. But I wouldn’t mind having one for getting my son donuts and my Starbucks.

I think it will bolster the prices of regular gen 3’s if anything. To 99% of people they are visually indistinguishable. So the hype of the R will make any Gen 3 desirable IMO because they’re basically the same aside from minor trim stuff and sound. Same thing has happened in the watch market and with other cars as well.

Agreed - I don't see the R having any impact on the regular Gen3s either way. The price point + exclusivity makes the R fit in its own segment. A lot of people already thought the Gen 3 was expensive for what it is, now tack on 20k for the changes in model + 50k markups (guessing) and you're in an entirely different stratosphere. It's akin to what just happened to GM when they announced the pricing of the new Z06 (106.5k starting). It's so much more expensive that many people dropped their pre-orders and are going back to buying base models as they feel the price gulf isn't worth what you get for it.
