I have no idea if they are good or just hookium. I have been wondering on these the same as you have. Hope to hear from those with more turbo experience than I have. Which isn't much. I know it was a kids movie but a bit lost after that.

In theory it keeps heat in the turbine which increases velocity and reduces turbo lag, also reduces radiant heat, I’m not experienced enough to know if this is beneficial to our application or not

There is no negative to reducing underhood temps and keeping it contained in the turbos. I ran them on my ats-v, sti, diesel bwm, turbo s2000... pretty much every turbo car I have had them on, Ill be adding them to my raptor also.

EE did a pretty good video on turbo blankets.
If you want the quick and dirty, it helped with quicker spool up. But the turbo blanket from full race offer much less coverage and our turbos are water cooled, so you probably won't have the same gains as the video implies. I don't think they are worth the money in our application.

To piggy back on what you said. These would be a marginal gain item. For marginal gain items to be effective they are often paired with quite a few other mods to make a collective difference.

If your chasing 10th’s I could see going for these, but from an average enthusiast I would imagine there wouldn’t be much if any performance gain.

I could maybe see them as protection for other items from heat though.

EB Turbos will not benefit except reduce under hood temperatures but that’s with coating the down pipe also
