I’m posting this information to hopefully help anyone else looking for price protection. Right now my price protection hangs in the balance of a dealership that is making me front the money first and tells me there is a 50/50 chance ford would “approve it” and get it back to me to which then they would cut me a check for $2735. In addition they wrote my final bill of sale without subtracting my $1000 deposit and charged me a $500 “admin fee” for registration. I’m sure someone will post a good meme for me on this one. Good dealers are hard to find. I still feel confident the dealer will do the right thing but maybe I’m just remembering the good old days.

It sounds like you have been more than reasonable on this, but they are trying to get every last dime out of you. I would make sure the $1000 deposit is subtracted and then, tell them you do not recall anything about a $500 admin (100% Pure profit) fee. As you stated, they will gladly let you walk away as they will make much more than the amount they are trying to extract from you by selling it on the open market.

The other thing that is bothering me is if I am entitled to a Blue Cruise Credit? I wanted to pay my original signed price of $74,535 that was on my build sheet, which included Blue Cruise. The dealer says that I am not entitled to my Blue Cruise credit because the updated sticker does subtract the $1395 from the 801a package. But if they credit me back the $2735 doesn't that just put me back to the original number I signed for which included Blue Cruise? My thinking (and maybe it is wishful) would be to subtract the blue cruise from the original number I signed for, and that is technically my price.

Am I crazy for thinking this?

YES YOU ARE!!! Getting a truck now is the biggest headache right now and the high adm. If you don't want your truck because of $1395, I will take it lol

Why are they netting them together? They're intentionally trying to screw you out of $1,395.

For price protection to be accurate, you would take the current window sticker price and subtract $4,180. That'll get you the appropriate price you need to pay. In order to check the accuracy, assuming the build is the same as when you originally placed it and nothing else has changed, you just add back the $1,395 to get your original order's MSRP.

It's basic math.

Dealer needs to input your VIN into Ford’s proprietary SmartVincent computer system to see if you qualify.

The problem? Dealers are calling the shots due to high demand and very limited Raptor inventory. Unfortunately stealer-ships are in the drivers seat right now. Consumers can’t call the shots in this crazy market. Refuse delivery? No problem as they have buyers lined up behind you.

Well I didn't refuse delivery (of course lol). I just simply asked if I am entitled to receive the final cost that I signed on the dotted line for on October 1st, minus the blue cruise credit of $1395. I also asked if they can adjust the price at time of signing instead of me laying out the money and waiting for a refund from ford dealer. Its an extra $4k as stated above and I'd have to pay CA sales tax on that amount also which doesn't seem fair/right.

Either I will get this adjusted, Not get it adjusted and I have a 4k ADM or I pissed off the dealer enough that they will refuse to sell it to me lol Again I don't think Im out of line here for asking for any of these items. Ford Corporate really f'ed all of this up but had I know things would increase almost 4k I just would have paid for it cash in October.

Is 4K going to affect you so much to the point you’re willing to decline the purchase? How much does this truck mean to you…personally & monetarily?

No 4k would never be the deal breaker for me and unlike most other raptor Starbucks people mine will be actually in Baja on the trails used for it’s intended purpose. I just don’t want to over pay for something I shouldn’t have to.

I plan on flying to the east coast to pick it up in 2 weeks.

This truck means everything to me as I’m a lead mechanic on a Jeep forum also and can’t wait to get my hands on a brand new vehicle after 14 years and 225k miles. BDB45865-8CCE-4AC9-9618-CDB8A91457A7.jpeg
