Price protection in the current market? Not sure anything like that even exists... I just picked mine up and the dealer was transparent with me... they were hoping and praying that I would back out of my MSRP +$12k deal since they could turn around in 5 seconds and write a deal for +$25k to the next buyer! Net price is all you should be concerned about; how they make the sausage doesn't really matter.

Good luck...

Picked up my Raptor last Thursday and they tried to screw me over and convoluted the price of the vehicle.

Even though I had my order agreement listing all the details.

On the day of purchase/pickup:
- The first line item on the purchase agreement was Vehicle Market Value: $100k
- Second line item, Vehicle Discounted Price: $84, ***

On that second item, the $84k was the agreed upon price after fees and taxes when I signed the order agreement.

The dealer tried to price the vehicle at $84K plus fees and taxes!!! Effin crooks!!!

I had to show them the order agreement and argue for what seemed for hours.

Then as they realized they were losing, they come out and say I have to pay $5k ADM... that they cannot sell the vehicle at MSRP no matter what.

I SAID NO!!

The other agreement does not list a $5k ADM thus I pay what the order agreement states. The order agreement was signed by a sales manager, so you guys agreed to the conditions.

They then tried to argue they can't sell the vehicle at MSRP because I could turn around and sell it for $20k profit the next day. Sigh

Long story short (6 hours later and a conversation with the general manager), the dealer made me pay the 2022 price instead of the 2021 price I was fighting for. And no ADM.

Moral of the story.... that price protection is worthless.
Pay attention to the numbers... they will convolute the shit out of the numbers hoping to confuse you.
Stay firm.... even though you don't have the upper hand. The dealer wants you to walk away as they can sell the truck for $20k ADM.

During my 6 hour debacle, like 10 people wanted to buy my truck at any price...

I dislike people who are impatient and willing to pay obscene amounts over MSRP because they are whiney spoiled little ******* that haven't developed the skill of patience... Thank them for this BS ADMs...

Price protection is not worthless! It's your dealer who are crooks. Thats why you call Ford Corporate so they can handle the price protection before you pick up the truck.

Yeah, the dealer (the dealer managers) didn't give a flip about Ford. They claim they have not been informed...I showed them Ford's public statement on price protection...

Though to your point, I did not call Ford ahead of time as I thought I was paying what was on my order agreement. All this happened when I went to pick it up and managers got involved. Sales guy was awesome and supported me the whole time. It was a last minute switcheroo... lol

Before I placed my order, a few dealerships think since we can sell it for 100k, it justifies them to put 20k+ adm. They also were like when you get it, you can sell it! Like im not trying to sell it!

Exactly....I was like what does your ADM have anything to do with me? I'm not buying to sell...
I'll sign a damn contract that stipulates I can't sell it like Ford did with the Ford GT.

I don't understand how that justifies the dealer to charge ADM.

Makes them sound like whiney little *******... "What about us?"... sigh

Worse buying experience ever!!!!
But, at the end, I got a better deal than I was prepared to accept.

Oh!!! And get your own financing!!!
The dealer was super pissed when I came in with my 1.99% loan... They wanted to recoup their loss via financing...

So, if you refuse, they sell it to the guy they have on speed dial. Is that worth the fight on principle?

My did told me from the get go he wasn't going to honor price protection on my vehicle. He wanted me to back out of the MSRP deal I am guessing. I had pre-paid for the vehicle in advance with the inflated price because I wasn't going to lose the truck under any circumstances. After that they couldn't match my 2.09% finance rate and wanted me to go through them and refinance a month later to which I promptly told them no! After calling Ford directly with a complaint, I went to pick up my truck and the GM was so mad he didn't even come speak to me. The sales guy just handed me my keys and a check for the price protected difference. Terrible business practice to treat someone who bought an 80k pickup truck from you to get that treatment but I honestly didn't even care anymore because I had my truck at my agreed upon price.

Ordered in October, picked up this week.

I asked about the price protection and they said I didn’t have to worry about anything.

They sent me the paper work and it was missing my deposit and discount for the blue cruise. I told them about it and it was fixed in 5 minutes. Zero hassle.

Thanks for everyone who’s been posting this info

My dealership wouldn't discount the blue cruise discount but honored our previous agreed upon price. I could have argued but they are selling them now for 5k over MSRP and i got it for 3k under MSRP.
