I don't see them changing much up in the Raptor R but maybe a little more front suspension changes due to the heavier engine. Any of you think they will make some major suspension changes to the R then the normal GEN 3s?

You’re kidding, right? They can’t even deliver the ecoboost ’21 Raptors.

Do you think that will stop them from coming out with the R, nope. They are doing that with everything else right now, Broncos, Bronco Raptors, Ford Lightning, and so on. They will continue to announce and push new vehicles, even if they are years behind getting those vehicles to customers. Sad but true.

I think the Raptor is already in trouble, thanks in large part to Ford biting off more than it could chew.

Ford is -very- conservative on the F150 because it’s their bread and butter. Without F150 and F series being the industry leader, Ford would quite possibly sink. Ford got caught with their britches down when Dodge brought the TRX to sale and not some limited edition truck, they basically built them like they were making hotcakes. Ford then did what with the Gen 3?

new rear suspension, new interior, bold new graphics, 37 option and bundled that accursed moonroof into the mix. No power plant improvements...

Raptor sales have been significantly impacted by the arrival of the TRX.
Raptor sales have been significantly impacted by the failure to deliver on the promise of Raptor arrivals by would be owners who got tired of waiting and bought a TRX instead.
Ford continues to struggle to deliver trucks.
The Raptor is a small portion of F150 manufacturing.
The Raptor R promises to be even smaller.
All of this is happening in the context of the Bronco roll out. The Bronco which has a ton of accessories - easily 20x the number of accessories as the Rap.
What did Ford Do in the 2000’s when the Lightning was eclipsed by the SRT10? Nothing.

I want them to actually produce a better Raptor, but they certainly aren’t inspiring confidence.

I would hope that none of the suspension comes from the regular raptor, what's the point of having an R if it's all the same, this better be Race ready not Starbucks ready out of the showroom floor.
What about the current Raptor suspension puts it in the ’starbucks ready’ category? :rollfro:
How you can conclude that the TRX negatively impacts Raptor sales whenever every Raptor coming off the line is essentially already sold?
Look at how many here on FRF have admitted to buying & owning one maybe?
Every TRX sold is potential Raptor sale lost. Every one. The truck’s stated target was the Ford F150 Raptor so, not to be rude or anything but how can you conclude the TRX hasn’t impacted Raptor sales?

Sure, every current Raptor is accounted for, but it’s been a partial first MY delivery, that, let’s be honest, has been a “development opportunity” or a “rebuilding season” for Ford. ’22 is the first full MY for the Jen Tres. Can you imagine what trying to buy a Raptor in ’21-’22 would have been like if there weren’t a TRX?

Instead of saying what about the current raptor is Starbucks ready, how about looking at it and saying “what about it would make it race ready” I could name a lot of things , such as longer travel suspension, roll cage and real off-road lights. Could go on and on but that’s not my thing.
