Grab a Gen 3 and enjoy the wait. Based on nothing but my own suspicion, I expect R orders in Q3/Q4 ‘22 and deliveries in ‘23.

By the time the R hits the market, it will be competing with 1000hp electric trucks and the TRX (which is already stealing some market share, which will only increase).

High horsepower ICE trucks are NOT going to be an up and coming area. And it looks like Ford is bringing the R at the tail end of this. They needed it this fall.

This may not come to fruition.

It'll happen. Otherwise Ford will give up the crown to Ram. Trucks are Ford's bread and butter and they'll not allow Ram to be king of the halo truck. They are right now though...

While it sounds good, that would be expensive. MSRP (+ADM) + tax and take a loss selling (projected loss)? I don't have enough expendable income to support that! :)

I think Ford already did give up the crown to the TRX. My thoughts are that Ford put the "R" info out at Gen 3 launch event to keep Ford truck people from immediately buying the TRX. This slow stream of info about the "R" feels like it is leading people on about what an "R" could be. I am now of the mindset that I don't think the "R" will happen, and it was basically a free marketing tool to dissuade people from buying the TRX already. At some point we will see a shift in buying with or without more "R" news.

It will likely be pricey, but I don’t think as bad as what you’ve outlined above.

1) Don’t pay ADM (at a minimum not on the Gen 3) it may be unavoidable on the R. But I still think possible to avoid if they make more than a few and you’re patient.

2) Depending on where you live, you’ll only be taxed on the difference between your trade and the purchase price. (Indiana does this).

3) I made money selling my 2 yr old Gen 2. I expect the Gen 3 to hold its value fairly well. With supply chain issues and chip shortages estimated to continue for the next year or longer, I doubt the market gets flooded (I don’t expect to make money again when I trade in, but I doubt I lose much either).

The big ? Is who will be given the chance to buy one and will the msrp be south of $100k?

My sales guy just got back from a Ford regional meeting. The only news on the Raptor R was, they expect to start taking orders late Q2 of 2022, base price will be close to $92K, fully loaded touching $105K.
