Currently I have the Phoenix Automotive PX6 12.1" Tesla style head unit, the original Sony system amp and speakers (minus the subwoofer), a JL 12" sub in their truck wedge box, and an NVX 500w amp powering it. The system sounds pretty dang solid, but I'm wondering if it would be worth the upgrade to change out the speakers as well. I think the Sony amplifier provides enough power for them, but maybe a better speaker might give a little cleaner sound over the paper cone stock speakers. Also, any other upgrades you guys would recommend? Thanks!

jeez, cant i take a shower in peace?

the sony amp isnt all that great. since you are using the pheonix radio, you need a sound processor of some sort. you can use a cheap audio control lc7i or a real sound processor. the lc7i doesnt play well with the sony system so you will have sound issues. you could use a jl audio vxi amp. better, but not ideal. just depends on what kind of sound you want to accomplish. you are free to call or text me anytime to figure out your system.

im currently near seattle washington to tune a sound system. i booked a cheap room at motel 6. i now know why it is so cheap. im pretty sure i would catch something if i did anything other than hop in the rental car straight from my room. even walking to the gas station last night, 3 people asked me for a cig (yeah i know, bad habit), and 1 outside the gas station asked me for $2. its 300ft to the gas station......its not the best part of town. at least i know for next time. but this time a shower isnt over rated.
