Your impression comes across as quite biased. The Gen 2 Raptor was not an attempt to try and “emulate” the Gen 1. The Gen 2 surpassed the Gen 1 in every regard. Sales of the Gen 2 also have far exceeded Gen 1, so your assertion that customers don’t want the EcoBoost is completely unfounded. I daily drive my Gen 2 as well; the old 6.2 is a slug compared to it. The EB is faster, tows better, and gets significantly better fuel economy. There is no downside.

As far as a cam phaser noise, all you had to do was get it repaired. You act like it’s a characteristic of the engine. No rational person gets rid of a vehicle just because it needs a repair under warranty.
What you say makes zero sense to me. Why would Ford emulate its own truck. I said it set the standard for others to emulate. And I agree that the Gen 2 was better than the Gen 1, but again, the turbo 6 in the end, was not my preferred engine choice. And it’s perfectly rational to get rid of a vehicle that you suspect will have imminent failure. Mine was a 2017, trucks were going in repeatedly to have the phasers worked on/replaced. Not a headache I wanted to deal with. The slug 6.2 in my Gen 1 gave me 120k trouble free miles. Never made a noise, other than that big v8 rumble. Again, I loved the Raptors, the turbo6 was the end of it for me though. But…I am pleased that you love yours. I’m sure I’ll have another some day. I am not a fan boy for any brand. But, I do think that having owned all 3, probably gives me a little more insight than most.

As you stated, my personal opinion after owning and driving all three. I am In no way implying it’s for everyone. And Ford makes a great truck, would never knock it, other than the turbo 6 was not for me.

"It is my Daily Driver after all. Ram is leading the pack in this segment currently."

Of course it's not for everyone, just not sure how you concluded that Ram is leading the pack, in terms of being a good daily driver? That sounded more like a statement of fact rather than opinion.

Is there an example of an engine blowing up due to a noisy cam phaser?

Bro, not getting into a pissing match with you. Ford makes a good truck, 6 cylinder was not for me. Take it for what it is...an objective, first person perspective, previous owner of all review. But if you're asking if any Raptor ever has lost an engine...of course it has...every brand has. I have love for all manufactures. People spouting off about stuff they have zero experience in is asinine.

Referring specifically to materials used in the interior. They are IMHO leading this category currently. You are most definitely correct that fuel economy is a BIG PLAYER for most, but not all drivers. And I whole heartedly agree with other posts on this forum concerning Plastic Battery Trays, and Reservoir mounts. Was the ball dropped here by Ram, indeed. But every manufacturer has its short falls.

****I went back and re-read what I actually posted vs. what I was thinking as I was typing. I've now edited that section. Thanks for pointing that out. You are without a doubt correct. I was specifically referring to interior materials used (soft touch leather/suede/carbon fiber etc) After having them all, the TRX does not feel cheap in any of the materials used. If ford could find a way to get away from all the hard plastic, they would be on par.

Your post made it sound like your truck was on borrowed time due to an issue that has yet to cause a catastrophic failure despite it being used in what is considered the number 1 selling truck. Maybe I misread or misinterpreted.
As for me I would not be swapping Ford reliability for questionable Fiat reliability, but that’s because the three Fiats I had were not reliable.

I can see that, and I was indeed worried about catastrophic failure. It was 2017/2018 so there was plenty to worry about. And, I (at least in my mind) completely wrote dodge off after a bad experience I had with their product back in 2010. Switched to Ford (Multiple F-250s and Raptors) from there. Never even considered a GM. But, never say never, Ram released the Gen 5 platform at a time when I was somewhat concerned about the reliability of the turbo 6, so I gave them a shot. Got a Gen 5 Ram Limited. Even picked up a Redeye Challenger. 140,000 miles later between the two, with zero trips back to the dealer for warranty work, and because I absolutely LOVE my challenger, I had to give the TRX a try. Will it be my last truck, or truck brand, not a chance. I Loved my 2011 Raptor as much as my challenger. If I could go back in time, never would have sold it for the Gen 2. The Gen 3 may win me back in time. But I was not posting here to sh** on Ford. I like to think I am better than that. I feel that there are plenty of people on this forum, and the TRX forum that are curious about what owners of both platforms think. If you'd like, look up my posts on the TRX forum, I've shown nothing but love for the Raptor there.

This is impressive. The TRX will eventually have tunes available, where the speed limiter is lifted as well. The 6.2 hellcat has lots of room for growth. I can confirm this just by comparing my TRX to my Redeye Challenger. Night and Day difference in performance between the two. My challenger will plant you in the seat thru 180mph. I have no doubt that an unlocked TRX will show huge performance gains. Just like my MPT tuned raptor did.
