I wish the air would expand and cool faster when my coworker farts. He definitely needs more exhaust flow.

I just put my truck back to stock last week. Pulled all parts off except my Kooks downpipes as I was having my buddy do it at his shop while I was at work. Had the truck for two years. Truck drove and performed its best when the only modification was the downpipes. Imo. Keep in mind my mods were rather tame for this truck.

Youre obviously smarter than me so help me out here.

For the record I have a forged bottom end motor truck running on stock 2018 turbos. I know exactly where the restriction/limit is. I have also owned a 800whp MKIV Supra back in 2002 when that was still at the top of the HP mark for those cars as 1100whp/1200wtq Z06 as well as several other turbos cars so Im very familiar with how turbo motors work.

I’d like to learn more about your forged bottom end. What did you end up having done and who did the work?

AMS, bigger is better.

Best would be to find a Downpipe that ditches the adapters as a whole and bolts directly to the Exhaust Housing. IIRC, the COBB ones do this, but they've been discontinued, so you'll have to find some NOS ones, if there are any out there.

the adapter-less design might work out on the pavement, but for a truck that gets jumped and mobbed through whoops, it is an incredibly terrible choice.

You catch big air or bump the exhaust and the studs sheer straight off at the turbo housing.

yes, I sheered a stud 4 different times in a single day 200 miles from anywhere in Baja. it happened on the driver's side and the passenger's side.

the cobb unit that I took off of my truck also sounded like hammered shit.

Since going to the SPD downpipes, I've had no issues or HP loss.

the socket/ball flange design holds up in every situation that I've encountered offroad.

and the turbos aren't going to move enough air for there to be a big improvement ( or even a noticeable one). if you were building a raptor drag truck with a forged bottom end and big boy turbos, MAYBE it would matter. MAYBE.

keyboard expert raptor owners should not throw recommendations out there wildly.


oh and as far as "bigger exhaust is better"... wrong again.

go throw a 3" exhaust on your truck. dyno it.

then go throw a 2.75" exhaust on your truck. dyno it again.

It should be impossible to pick up 20 HP with the smaller, identically routed exhaust...


guess what is going to happen when you try it?

Thank you! Someone that gets that the exhaust is not the restriction the turbos are.

RMB built my motor. It a closed deck block with RMB's forged pistons and rods with a polished balanced and blueprinted stock crank.

Did the SPD tuner, 170 degree t-stat, Ford cold spark plugs, spd catted downpipes, SVC intercooler(needed for thier front bumper)
I have 37's installed and I can say it is very impressive. Dead stop and mash the gas and it almost smokes the tires when the turbo hits but still feel it peeling out a little. Half a second power brake and it burns the tires into second gear. Have the pedal commander also but haven't put it on yet, don't know if it'll make a difference but I'll report back
