Nothing against an 800a Raptor but the buyer of a used one for $70k+ will fall in the fool and his money are soon parted category.
Agreed. 801a is the sweet spot. The less than educated buyer looks inside, says "Leather. Check." and that's pretty much it.

Great deal! But you can’t tell me that the Explorer ST won’t lose more money over the next 12-24 months than what a 2020 Raptor will.

I actually agree with that, but I think we can all agree that the 800a Raptor is 'truly' worth about $50-52k in a normal market. Yes, I know it is worth what someone is willing to pay, but prior to now, it should have had a fair market value in that low $50k range. So even if the market settled back to 'normal', the Raptor would "lose" $15-18k in value. Or maybe the market never corrects, and this new hyper-inflation is just the new normal. Who knows?

All I could get my local dealers to offer was $67k for my 19 crew 802a CF Beadlocks with 28k miles. I tried to get Auto Nation to bump it to $69k but they said they couldn’t. Lol

Realtor friend appraised my home for over twice what we paid five years ago, tax assessor pretty close as well.
I asked my better half (Espoza loco) what she thought of selling our house, her car and my Raptor and living in our camper for a season driving my old Tacoma parking the trailer in a very nice spot near the Rockies or the ocean?
She says,
"You smile like a kid every time you drive that truck, bang around the garage, why give that up unless we have to? I like your smile" :)
No brainer....

Thanks baby...:)

I used to work with an attorney who would always tell jurors, Ladies and Gentlemen, my mom may have raised fat kids but she didn’t raise stupid kids.

well I may be a tad overweight. But I have some serious doubts that any dealer is paying more than 10 percent over list for your used Raptor.

In fact, I doubt you’d even get what you paid, unless the dealer is your poppa and he owes you money. I call BS and I don’t care if it’s a pandemic or not.

I partially agree. However, most when buying a raptor are not the usual uneducated buyer.

You would think that but not so sure based on what I am currently seeing. Paying MSRP or more for a used 2 year old truck (many with mileage 20k+) seems the opposite of an educated buyer, unless money is no object. Seeing some asking prices on autotrader over $80k lol.

It's all about supply and demand. I look at it like it's an ADM, but if you have a lightly used '20 (or maybe another lightly used one), you are the beneficiary, not the dealer. I understand the logic behind your thought, but that's the same as saying that you don't believe someone would pay over MSRP for a new vehicle. Are you going to call BS if someone claims they paid $125k for a Raptor R that stickers for $100k?

The bottom line is that people do dumb stuff. So they are paying over MSRP for used vehicles - and truthfully, that is the only option since there aren't any new ones.

Here's the link to the truck that I traded. Now we all know they aren't going to get $81k for it. But, the fact of the matter is that a truck with an MSRP of $58,925 is listed for sale at $81k...
