You have a valid point. I guess we will wait and see. If it is a supercharged or Twin Turbo V8 I am going with it. I would like Ford to use a Billet twin turbo set up on thus. Man, the potential of that set up would be off the wall!
And thats all I was trying to get at with the rumors of reliability issues. That its not that the engine isnt reliable, it just might not be in something as big and heavy as the raptor.

Well, what we do know from everyone from the Ford CEO to insiders is that it will be a forced induction V8. I am cool with it.

Twin Turbo set up would be down right nasty.

Nissan GT-R weighs what, 4300 lbs? Not Raptor territory, but heavy w/ weaker running gear all around. Weight don’t matter if cooling & tuning is legit in a tt platform

Turbochargers are superior to Superchargers.
Ehhhh depends- less reliable, more heat, more piping, more
Parts = more chance for shit to break

a roots type blower most reliable

a centrifugal blower best of both worlds, like a turbo supercharger lol

I own a R35 GTR and they are nowhere hear 4300 lbs. In stock form they weigh 3800 lbs. My personal GTR with the lightest Forged T6061 wheels in the game on it and other mods is around 150 lbs lighter. Sitting right around 3600-3650. These cars are very strong performers.

not doubting the performance cred- in fact it’s a car I’d consider owning- I just thought it weighed more. It’s also gone through a few changes over the years too- maybe thinking of original

Expensive to maintain? I hear they are

I also kinda like the new nsx

Yeah, the R35 GTR is a solid platform. You are right, they are very expensive to maintain and play with. We call it the GTR tax lol. Stock off the showroom floor they do 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and 1/4 high 10’s. It is a purpose built car for sure. It is all business.

In regards to the new NSX, V6 twin turbo hybrid making 573 HP. Cool looking car for sure, but I don’t think it has sold very well for Acura. The GTR on the other hand...well yeah, they are sold before they even get to the dealership, and keep going up in price. They have gotten obnoxious expensive to buy now. Looks like a new track edition will run you $145,000 USD + taxes. Up here in Canada, just the Premium is $150,000 on the road and the track edition is $190,000 on the road.

That’s a lot of money for a 2 door Altima.
