5.2 EcoBoost, rumours suggest they are having reliability issues with a superchargered 5.2. because turbos are more efficient you can make more power and run less boost there by keeping everything cooler and therefore more reliable.

I want the 7.3 supercharged. Also, there was info leaked earlier about a 6.8 gas engine specific for the F150. I wonder if that is what they are testing?

It is a 7.3 with a blower. I have posted before but nobody pays attention. I will enjoy all of the comments, but, will enjoy it even more when you all find out I am correct. If you really want to know something, and are willing to do the work, the information is available. :)

The Raptor R will be powered by the 5.2 Predator. There is no reliability issue with the 5.2. Don’t buy everything people try to sell you.

It is a proven powerplant that is running low 9’s @ 150 MPH with bolt ons in the GT500

Just because its reliable in a lightweight chassis at those power levels does not mean it will be in a 6500lb truck at similar power levels. That being said I'm sure ford will get it sorted.

I'd love to see this for no other reason than to thumb the nose at the TRX easter eggs showing a Trex next to a Raptor...

The GT500 is not a lightweight car. It tips the scales at nearly 4200 lbs (heavy for a sports car). There will be some small tweaks very minor to apply it to the Gen 3 Raptor.

All I am saying is, it is BS for anyone to say the Predator is unreliable. It has been bulletproof.

GT500 is still light compared to putting that engine in a truck that could potentially weigh close to 5800 lbs. You're asking the motor to lug around an extra 1600+ lbs. What's the GVWR of the GT500? 5200, maybe? Doesn't even come close to the curb weight of a Raptor. Putting that engine into the Raptor is going to be a cooling nightmare. For that much power and load, Ford would be wise to choose a bigger block. The 7.3 would be it and power can be obtained without boost.....whether or not it's daily driveable or efficient enough is tbd.

IMO, the s/c 5.2 is not a good choice...and with Ford Performance announcing a high performance version of the 7.3, I'm leaning towards god/megazilla.

You have a valid point. I guess we will wait and see. If it is a supercharged or Twin Turbo V8 I am going with it. I would like Ford to use a Billet twin turbo set up on thus. Man, the potential of that set up would be off the wall!
