Hi Guys. I'm planning to make some mods and would like some advice. I'd like to see if I can get my Gen 2 up to 500hp because...reasons. I also want to improve the engine note and protect the paint. Suggestions?

Also interested in any good auto shops in the Denver area that could do mods & paint.

Sure going to be hard to improve exhaust note on one of these trucks. Save your money on intake. Highly recommend MPT tunes with transmission tune. 93 PRX and 93 Tow tune if 93 octane is available.

Thanks, guys! I was thinking of doing a cat-back exhaust as well. Any suggestions?

Here are the things I would go with, and have most of them: turbo flange adapters (SPDs are what i went with, AMS or others are slightly larger but are slightly thinner)-these made a noticeable difference; aftermarket intercoooler, stock location to maintain flow to the radiator-CVF or others are very similar; intake, like an S&B that has a larger box, tube and way bigger air filter, the OE filter isn't big enough at rpms above about 2/3 throttle and robs power. After that, downtubes make big gains on turbo engines, especially if you go with a tune.
Exhaust, for performance increase, but more noise, you can eliminate the resonator (opens the pipe size up from 2.75 to 3"); the rest of the exhaust does little for performance, changing only the sound.

Wow, this is the first I've heard of the turbo flange adapter. Any other have experience with them? SPD seems legit, and smooth flow is definitely a good thing

I generally don’t recommend this unless you’re making big power or you’re in a hot, dry, desert climate. An aftermarket intercooler will cause condensation to build up and you’ll be feeding your engine moisture.

Our systems will add power and reduce the factory exhaust restriction. That being said, if you are going to go Downpipes you will experience some drone with our 0FG system from feed back I've received. You can run the 2FG which keeps the factory mid-pipe muffler section and adds an H-Pipe after. This is a really popular set-up and is under $500. Let me know if you have any questions, I'll do my best to help out.
