anyone identify a solution for the radio delay? I was at the dealership the other day having the burb vent in the rear of the cab replaced after it flooded the back and front floor boards. They replaced the carpet for me and sanitized the pan for mold. I showed them the delayed responses on the radio, apparently they think the APIM is bad....I'm supposed to take it back in AGAIN to have it replaced. This 2018 is giving me a fit....first it was boiling white exhaust, was in the shop for that and was stolen off the lot. Recovered it quickly, the dealership made that right then replaced the valve covers for the smoke issue. Then came the flood....sat at the dealership for two months waiting for mold and carpet to be remediated. Now the white smoke is back.....done here....will trade it in shortly and move to a 2020 and try again. By the way....only 33K miles on it......what happened to QUALITY IS JOB #1?

I was just commenting to my wife this evening that the “infotainment” in my 2012 Ram that I traded in on my 2020 Raptor was faster to respond and more user friendly. I know that’s zero help to you, but I’m glad it’s not just me that gets frustrated from time to time with Fords system.

I have a 2020 Raptor and had the same problems. Took it in back in December and they did the work in the TSB. It's definitely better but not perfect.

I have the same thing happening on my 2018 with 40K miles. It seems to work better when it is connected to my iPhone and I use the car play feature. if I unplug the phone good luck. So can the APIM be bad but work better when your phone is plugged in... I just don't want to spend $1200 on the APIM ( they wont warranty it) if it is something else.

Thanks for all the help.....

Do you have the latest software update? Quite a few have been released since your truck was built.

I went to the sync website and it states 3.0.2 is the latest. So I'm doing it now via a usb drive. I took it to the dealer a few weeks ago and they said they already did it but you never know.

Thanks,

I did the update.... But it seems if the iPhone is turned on in the truck ( NOT PLUGGED IN) it still drags and freezes. Turn the phone off and it seems to work better??? If I plug the phone in and CARPLAY is active all is good??

I went and deleted some apps I don't use.....

Anyone else seen anything like this...

I'm lost..

Thanks

That issue is typically related to the phone itself, or an app that is interfering. CarPlay is a separate interface and doesn’t use Bluetooth. Is your phone on the compatility list?
