Possible to move the driver seat back farther?

I'm 6'3" and saying there's ample leg room is an understatement. The F series cabs are the most spacious I've driven. My Audi on the other hand could definitely use more leg room compared the Raptor.

Yeah, I dunno man, I am 6'4" and I don't have the seat all the way back... Either you have unrealistic expectations, or there is something wrong with your seat/pedal/steering wheel adjustment...

Height is only part of the story. People have different length arms and legs. I'm 6' tall with a 32" inseam. I have a friend who is 5'6" with a 32" inseam and a friend who is 6' tall with a 36" inseam. Rock climbers talk about something called the ape index, which is your arm span divided by your height. It's a huge advantage to be 1.1 as opposed to 0.9. If you have very long arms and legs, you'll feel comfortable farther from the wheel. Once again, it helps to be average.

Edit to add: Real freaks have short arms and long legs or long legs and short arms. Michael Phelps, for example, has really long arms and short legs for his height. Great for swimming, but I imagine that getting a car seat adjusted is a real PITA for him.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts. I just found it curious that my Chevy Colorado had more room up front than my new Raptor. Of course, no room in the back when the seat was all the way back, but I didn't care about that. I don't ride in the back. lol. And with so much room in the back why Ford would restrict the movement of the front seats and not allow them to go back further.

If the front seat is too cramped remove it. Sit in the back seat and drive. [emoji2957]

That is interesting about the colorado, I didn't buy a Silverado purely based on the lack of seating room, also a drive to get rid of my Tahoe for the Raptor. For my 6'7" and big frame, I found nothing with more room. Maybe time to buy a Colorado and a C8

It’s funny, but sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be 6’3”

It feels as though 6'2" is the 'border' between being average tall and noticeably tall. By that I mean that it seems people will see you as normal and every objects (vehicles, clothes, etc) will be designed to fit you when you are 6'2" and below. Purely my opinion, but I don't think you'll notice a drastic difference from 6'8" to 6'3", as much as you would from 6'0" to 6'3" for example.

All that said, I find being left handed being more of a difference maker than height, for me at least.

On the topic though, I'm at 6'3" and have no issues with the seat, I don't have it all the way back. The pedal and wheel adjustment makes the biggest difference. I do wish that the center console could be pulled out a bit as I barely reach the screen in my normal position. The other thing is I tend to rest my left knee on the door, which causes the plastic to creak a bit...annoying.

At 6'8" I'm surprised to see this post (I still laugh at the picture of me when I bought the truck, and I'm taller than the truck). I'm still very surprised at the amount of leg room in the truck. I'm also thrilled that the truck has the telescoping steering wheel (although at times I actually wish it came out further). I'm not sure what package your truck has (mine is the 2A), and here's how I have my seat set:
  • Seat all the way back
  • Seat raised as much as possible
  • Butt portion of seat lowered all the way
  • Front of seat by legs raised all the way up
Not sure if that makes any sense or helps at all.

Same here, same height. 37-38” inseam. Specifically ordered a truck without the godforsaken roof because it cut down too far on head room.

I feel there’s plenty of room in the truck although I would like the steering wheel to telescope farther out and the seat to be mounted lower and possibly slightly farther back.

My old Super Duty has more room in it, but just like the Mustang, these new trucks are a victim of demographics. That truck also allowed you to manipulate the seat height independent of the seat cushion angle.

I’m finding that all the newer vehicles have seats that are mounted higher to accommodate women who make up a larger portion of the sales base now.
