I find people will drive fast with me but rarely get people trying to race me. Lane keep and adaptive cruise work great as aids but you still have to do your part. Adaptive cruise can get thrown by you or other vehicles changing lanes. It's not supposed to be self-driving technology so it's no surprise.

It might just be me, but I feel like I've had a few experiences where it seemed people wanted to "race" while on the highway, seeing as how when I drive my Fiesta I never experience the same thing.

I had a Prius (literally) zoom by me on my way home from out of Cleveland a while ago. I was doing about 70 in a 65 and passed the guy then a few seconds later he sped up and zipped by me doing at least 80-85 and off he went. I couldn't help but think, "that's cool and all bro, but I'm still in a Raptor and you're driving a Prius..."

He probably finished sending his text. Thinks slowing down to the limit makes it safe. Or he was dozing and you woke him up.

Out here where Raptors are common as dirt nobody ever tries to race me.

Have driven between Sacramento to LA so many times, that stretch of highway is unreal, if you are doing under 80 you're either in a motorhome or a semi. Most are doing 90-100 mph and cut in and out from behind you so they can squeeze in before getting trapped behind a semi. Turn all that junk off.

Then it would become a Gen 1 LOL

I’ve done 5 trips, before the Covid-19, from Northern NJ to Toronto, Canada without any issues. I have a 2018 and the truck handled like a charm...

I've had 2 F250s try to race me at stoplights in the last week, I have a newborn in the backseat... Not happening.

Only had 1 older chevy 1500 try anything on the highway a while back in TN.

Did Eastern NC to Central PA and back for thanksgiving (1000mi roundtrip), a cool 9hr trip each way without NOVA/DC traffic along Satan's taint aka I95.

ACC is pretty handy in stop and go traffic, just when the mind starts getting tired it's nice that the truck is looking out for you. I set it in the shortest setting but often have people shooting that gap in traffic which is honestly fine by me.

At speed ACC can be slightly annoying specifically if you're cruising, the person in front of you brakes to turn, and you switch into the fast lane to maintain your speed. I had the truck panic brake, nose dive, drop from 75 to 60, and then since it was still in 10th gear, it lugged its way back up to speed.

The real MVP on long drives is dual climate controls. A well heated or cooled wife is good for your health.

Does yours make the grinding sound when coming to a complete stop using ACC? That drives me bonkers. I found a thread a while back that seemed to conclude it was a fact of life in these trucks
