Anyone here from South Carolina? We’re currently in TX but am retiring to SC in a few years - see that vehicles have a property tax but can’t find any tables on how or what that is calculated on...

For those in Texas that are a Disabled Veteran with at least 60% disability then your registration is $10.50 at least for a 2013 SVT Raptor. My property tax would be $5100 if not for my 100% VA Disabled exempt status so it is $0. Just some info for the Disabled Veterans in Texas.

Here in Texas as a disabled Vet $12.50 a year. I really feel thankful for what Texas does for its Vets. Not only that the beer is cold and cheap!

Holy smokes... reading these comments makes me think I committed a crime with how little I had to pay. In total was about $800 and that included specialty plates so I'm expecting next year to be lower. El paso county colorado.

Do you guys have personal property taxes or garage taxes as well?

Nope. I paid 9 percent sales tax when I bought mine. So like 6500 bucks. Then another 950 for registration. Just renewed it now and it was 840 with a specialized plate. That’s once a year. Only other thing will be smog every two years once the vehicle is 5 years or older. And the registration goes down every year as it’s based on value. Still a rip off. No vehicle inspections though which is nice. And gas is over 3 bucks minimum. But I make triple what I did in Mississippi so even though it sucks ass somehow it’s still worth it. Oh I probably shouldn’t forget about the taxes for everything. You just look at somebody wrong. There’s a tax. I tripped and fell. That’s a tax for putting undue stress on the sidewalk. Haha. Can’t wait to leave.

I guess I just realized that one of the few good things that remains about living in Oregon is the vehicle registration fees. Around $120 for 2 years on standard plates plus a $25 DEQ fee for OBDII smog testing. My county just added a $60 tax on top of the roughly $150 biannual renewal which I have been pretty annoyed about. However, after reading what many others are playing, especially for sales tax, I suppose is small potatoes. Our lack of sales tax really keeps our total registration costs low. Now if only we could keep all the Californians to stay in their state with their taxes and policies!

Wisconsin just over $100 plus a few dollars for convenience tax to do it online.
I complained just once to my aunt about the township upping my registration $10 a year. She lives in Santa Barbara County CA and owns two nice European cars and a few cars for her business. I don’t feel too bad anymore.

What the hell is a garage tax? Paid $240 to renew my 2012 with specialty plate and a $20 smog fee. Property taxes are $2600 on a $450,000.00 house. My sons 2018 was around $850 to renew goes down each year.
