well...the saga continues .. the other day the forward view camera was acting up. Dim picture and inoperative on 360 view. So I called and scheduled yet another appointment at the dealer. The truck sat for three days when I was away for work. Came home to park and the reverse cam was inoperative again. I getting pretty fed up with this.

What does the SSM mean? When I take it in on Tuesday will there be some kind of special fix?

It means that Ford determined that the issue is with the camera, and therefore the dealer should replace the affected camera instead of performing diagnostics or replacing other components.

Specifically, the issue is with the connector on the camera itself; this is why pressing on the camera can sometimes cause the image to clear up.

Since the SSM was released, all service parts ordered by the dealer should be the updated design from the supplier.

My rear camera just started having issues. Sometimes it is really dark and other times just a black screen. Looks like I need to get it in soon.

I had mine front camera replaced 2 weeks ago and it’s still broke. I’m not sure how updates the inventory is but it took like 3 weeks to get in.

The 2020 Camera Issue is taking place of the Cam Phaser Issues. Seems like not if, but when. Honestly, I keep waiting for mine to have an issue. When it does, the dealer will fix it.

LOL. Mine just started today. Rear camera was giving me a dark picture. When I first start the truck it's fine. After a few bumps, it goes back to looking like its wearing sunglasses.
Went out and slammed the tailgate. Since then, it's been working fine. Figures.
Next time it goes haywire, it's off to the dealer.

Took it to dealer yesterday. Tested both front and rear cameras. They both came back bad. Seems to be about a month lead time to get a replacement. Will update when they are in.
