Why are people selling / getting out of brand new Raptors. Was this a case of I bit off more than I could chew with the payment? WAs it I just dont use the Raptor for whats its designed to do ? Or were you unhappy with the truck for some reason ?

Not carmax but I have a dealer wanting my 2019 PB loaded with recaros, 14k miles. They are saying they can give me around 68k. Which is actually 2k more than i actually paid for truck. This leads to my conundrum. I have a stage 2 goose tune, cvf IC, cobb cai, ams boost tubes, cobb accessport. If it all works out and i take offer, is there a market for the used aftermarket parts on here if i pull them off and return it to stock? Or should I just leave it all on and save the hassle?

Sorry if i got off topic of the thread.
There’s a market if you’re willing to put in the time to sell. The Accessport alone should sell for around $500; $800 if you have the transmission tune unlocked as well.

If you do decide to part it out, I’d be interested in your Cobb Intake.

I’d be interested especially if the AccessPort was uninstalled from your truck.

Define "brand new". My family jokes with me that when it's time for an oil change, it's time for me to get a new car. LOL

My Raptor was 17 months old with 17,000 miles - that's far from brand new. As for your point about what the Raptor as designed for, my girl was 100% a pavement queen. But I would argue that I drove her like she was supposed to be driven. But I never took her off road, if that's what you mean.

At the end of the day, I wanted to move onto another vehicle. Plain and simple.

I tend to get bored. I like playing with them, buying accessories, then I want a new toy. My wife hates that as she will keep a car until the wheels fall off.

Convert it back to stock and sell the takeoffs here. They won’t give you any thing for the mods. On here you should be able to sell them fro about half of new. Good luck

The only way to avoid sales tax of 8.4% here is to trade it in. And dealer trade in is usually well below Carmax, let alone a private party sale. Dealers have a racket, for sure.

Edit to add: If I had a car I liked that wasn't giving me trouble, I'd keep it rather than risk getting a lemon.

Interesting. In Missouri, no matter if you traded it in, sold it to carmax, or sold it in a private sale, that amount can be used to offset the sales tax on a new vehicle. And it can even offset the sales tax on money received from insurance for a total loss claim, hence what happened to my Raptor. You can even get a sales tax refund difference after the sale as long as it was within 180 days.
